Re: Generator problems
I finally was able to adjust the third brush. When I first started the truck the amp meter was pegged on the positive side. I adjusted the third brush down so amps indicated 8 amps out. I let the truck run and the generator still heated up and started to smoke a little. At this time amps were back t...

Upholstery Color for april 1930 closed cab P/U
I need to order a seat cover for my 28/29 body style, built in april of 1930. I do not have any of the original material to be able to tell the original upholstery color. I am painting the truck the same green found under the gas tank. Can someone tell me the original colors for this year upholstery?

Re: Generator problems
I removed the generator and took and got it tested. I checked out great - including the cutout which was keeping voltage at 7.4 volts. The generator still gets hot after around 1-2 minutes of run time. Looks like it may be flowing high current. I only have the battery and ignition hooked up at this ...

Generator problems
My brand new rebuilt generator is overheating with short 1-2 minute engine runs. I tried to get a output voltage reading while is was running but my multimeter would not read the voltage (very odd). I even tried 0-200 with no luck. I only have the dash and the coil hooked up at this time. Do I need ...

Gas Leak - Help Needed.

I have a gas leak at the connection between the gas line and the filter inlet at the firewall. I have tried to tighen as much as I dare...

Re: Help on engine noise.
I removed the fan belt and the noise is coming from inside the front gear cover. Can I just remove the timing pin and squirt some oil in there? How does this area get lubricated anyway?

Help on engine noise.
I fired my model aa engine last night and it ran and initially sounded very good. It had sat in the desert for 50 years without running. The entire truck had no paint with light surface rust. I pulled the engine apart and found no wear in the cylinders and I checked the lower bearings and they all c...

Re: Installation of Roof on 28/29 style Cab
Volume 2 was delivered yestarday. I must have mis communicated my needs. The pics in the book clearly show the wood installation which I do not need. I need to install the top material. The book does have some good pictures but is really limited on content. With all the restoration and assembly need...
