Re: Tires and rims fro 30 AA
1930 and 1931 AA wheels are the same. Some people call wheels "rims" but that is not correct, rims are just the outer rim part of a wheel. In the Model T days wheels were made with wood spokes and the rims were separate steel items, but not separate since then except on some of the really ...

Re: front wheel studs
Try a nut splitter on the lug nuts, that will really loosen them up so they should come off. MAKE SURE YOU ARE TURNING THEM THE RIGHT WAY. Once the wheel is removed you can removed the drum and check to see why the studs are turning. If the stud holes in the drum are stripped, replace the drums. I h...

Thanks for posting the link to the auction, Chris. Why didn't I think of that?

New Old Stock 1929 Ford AA truck hub caps
I just put a pair of NOS '29 AA hub caps on ebay. I don't know what they are worth so the market can decide, the auction has no reserve. Go to auction # 231142816106 or search for "1929 AA Ford Truck NOS hub caps". The winner of the auction will be offered 2 more NOS hub caps for a set of 4.

Heil dump box with hoist & PTO complete for sale
I salvaged this from a 1931 AA that I parted out. The whole dump box with tailgate, hoist, subframe, PTO gearbox with control lever & driveshaft is complete. I never had a chance to try it out but it probably works, although I would recommend installing new oil seals wherever there are any. I am...

Re: 28 31 aa 4 speed tranny gears need gear pics
AA Fords did not have 4 speed trannys until mid-1929. I have an extra one or 2 in upper Michigan if you need one.

Re: 1930 Ford AA Brake Question
Tiredtruckrestorer you are correct about the wheel change described in the 3/34 Service Bulletin, p. 164. The information about the change to continuous lock rings from the previous split lock rings is also interesting. So the AA & BB wheels used from 1930 to 1933 were only used for 4 years, whi...

Re: Early 1930 Frame
I thought $1 per mile was for transporting vehicles? No one can pay that to have parts transported. In fact $1 per mile seems high priced for anything. $2000 to move a car from Chicago to LA? Lots of companies will do it cheaper than that. Send a letter to the Ventura County Model A Ford Club and le...

Re: 29 radiator shell
Looking again, it may be a later '29 shell, it is hard to tell from the photo. Still, good luck smoothing out the rust pits.

Maybe the transport guy who posts here frequently can help with this. If you need a drop-off point near Ventura I'm willing to help.

Re: 29 radiator shell
That is a '28 to early '29 rad. shell. See Standards p.15-5. That one looks like it has bad rust pits.

Re: 1916 AA (who'd a thunk) for sale
And one more: the same craigslist seller has another one of my old trucks that I let go when I moved to California: http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/cto/4270937631.html This one is a 1942 Chevy which was running (and stored inside) when I had it but I'll bet no one has tried to get it running since...

Re: 1916 AA (who'd a thunk) for sale
Same craigslist seller has another old Ford truck I used to own here: http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/cto/4270934432.html It looks the same as when I let it go in 2005. He seems to be really clueless about what he has. This truck had a title (maybe he lost it). It is actually a "blackout"...

Re: 1916 AA (who'd a thunk) for sale
I actually used to own this very truck some years back when I lived in northern Illinois. It looks exactly the same as when I last saw it about 8 or 9 years ago. It is a late '28 with a left side emergency brake and 3 spd trans with high/low. When I got it, it had been sitting outside for some years...

Re: 1930 Ford AA Brake Question
I have one of those old brake drum grinding machines. It is in working order but the grindstone is worn out and I have not found a replacement. I was told when I got it that it is the only way to resurface steel drums. I'm pretty sure the truck bolt pattern remained the same throughout the '30's and...
