Re: I need help with 29AA
When you are shopping for cab parts, it is best to reference that the parts are for a '28/'29 closed cab pickup (cab body number 82-A). Almost everyone dealing with A's knows what this is. If you simply ask for AA truck cab parts, many A'ers don't know that this is the same as the A cabs.

Re: What modern wheels fit an AA?
I have four of the '29 AA wheels to sell. They are in very good to excellent condition and do not have the lock ring. They are $90 each plus shipping. Below is a picture of one. I will be on vacation until early next week. I can send you pictures of th...

Re: 29 AA WHEEL AND TIRE SIZES HELP ?
A 32 x 6 tire size translates to a 6:00 x 20 in todays market. The '28/'29 AA's used 30 x 5 tires on the front and this translates to a 5:00 x 20. Most AA'ers are using 6:00 x 20 on the front. The wheel stop needs to be lengthened slightly to prevent the 6:00 x 20 tires from hitting the brake rods. ...

Re: Brake return springs
For 1930/1931 AA's the rear service brake rod return springs are attached to the rear radius rods along with the emergency brake rod return springs. This is the same setup as the Model A.
The 1928/1929 AA's had the a two rod setup for the rear service brake.

Re: 1929 AA Resto Project
Tony, If you really have a '29 AA, then you need the six spoke disk wheels (see attached picture). I have some of these to sell. The term "Budd Wheels" usually refer to the '30 through '33 wheels which are five spoke. The question is, what year AA do you actually have. The 82-A closed cab ...

Re: Newbie question
Hello Tony, Welcome to the forum. Ford did not offer any type of heater for the model A/AA. The "contraption under #1 sparkplug" is aftermarket. Note that the engine and all of its attachments are the same as the Model A. This will be a help in optaining parts and information. The 28/29 AA...

Re: 28 Wheel studs
Ed, You are correct on that point! I have not found anything in the Ford recall information which directed the dealers to convert the spare wheel carrier rear hinge and bolt. Ford did direct that the wheel wrench/crank was to be returned as part of the recall. What actually happened most likely vari...

Re: Paint color for 29 aa , (BODY)
The engine is painted Ford Engine Green. Spray cans of this paint is available at model A parts vendors. This is not the same as rock moss green for the 82-A cab. The body colors shown on the MAFCA web site are the same as in the Judging Standards. If you want to restore you truck per the standards,...

Re: 28 Wheel studs
Yea Bert, Due to the Ford recall in early '29, there are very few '28 AA's with the original Model A front spindles. This recall resulted in the conversion to right/left hand wheel bolts and nuts. This recall made the early 15/16" hex styles of right hand wheel nuts and the early 15/16" wr...

Re: 28 0r 29 worm drive spline
I think that the splines on the rear of a '28/'29 drive shaft is the same??? If yes, then this would be much easier to find!

Re: 28 wheel studs
midnite2336, I don't think that these wheel bolts (studs) are being made. You will have to find another rear hub/brake drum and press out a stud. You can tack weld the stud on the inside to keep it from backing out. FYI - All 1928 AA have standard right hand threaded studs (original). However, there...

Re: worm drive
Hello midnite2336,
The worm and shaft are all one piece (see picture - high speed worm). If you are getting a low speed, then it is not worth spending $'s fixing it.

Re: AA truck chapters?
The Ford Model AA Truck Club is a national club. We have about 350 members across the states plus some in Canada, Finland, England, and Australia. This is the only AA club which I know of.
There are Model A clubs in Kansas. Check the MARC and MAFCA web sites to find a Model A club close to you.

Re: Top Material on the closed Cab truck;s
The attached pictures shows original 82-A top material. Note the design which was protected under the rain gutter. The material looks like what is being sold today.
