Re: Worm drive shaft & bearings
I think the bronze ring gear will fit but it will be a little bit narrower. The rest I don't believe will. Neil will know.

Re: Filling a worm drive rear end
I put some in through the top most filler plug just to make sure that there was 600 wt. oil on the thrust bearing at first. Then I finished filling using the lower fill hole. I don't think that greasing the thrust bearing is necessary as the 600 wt. will coat the upper worm drive and thrust bearings...

Re: Filling at Warford Transmission
With the shift tower off I put in two quarts in mine and there was still room for more. With the tackiness of the 600 wt. I didn't feel the need to fill it all the way to the filler plug possibly lessening the tendency to leak. Working well so far.

Re: 1928 88-A platform
I have an extra board that I had made when I did mine. I'll get some measurements and a couple of pictures for you. Might be a day or two before I get to it. Somebody else may have the information for you before that though.

I've plenty of experience rusting stuff to match patina and would be happy to share what has worked for me. If you end up getting something bright and shiny let me know.

If I were to go the duct tape route I'd splurge for Gorilla tape.

Re: 29 wheel
I received four 28 spoked AA wheels shipped this way back in 2011. I'm thinking that it should still be okay to do so. I did some reading and what I have found it that USPS is required to ship anything that meets size and weight restrictions regardless of packaging as long as an address and postage ...

Re: 29 wheel
I believe that a wheel can be shipped through USPS without a box. Just put a couple wraps of duct tape around the wheel same as where the wheel flaps would fit. Write the To and From addresses on the duct tape. Will save the boxing costs and the dimensions will be a bit smaller saving on postage.

Re: What happens when a flat occurs
Glad your going to use the services of the tire shop.
My uncle Bill while inflating one had a lock ring break loose on him many years ago. Knocked out every one of his teeth and broke his jaw in at least 4 places. Was very lucky to have survived.
Once properly aired up these tires are quite safe.

Re: What happens when a flat occurs
Should just go flat without anything exciting happening. The dangerous part of a flat is inflating the tire after fixing it. Take the tire to a shop that does truck tires and have them inflate it in a specially designed cage just for doing this. Don't inflate them yourself. Let a pro do it. This way...

Re: Transmission questions!
If you've checked the levels of the transmission and the rear end and they are both near full then drain and measure what came out. Order twice the amount needed, fill them both back up with new 600 wt. Drive it for 20 or more miles, pull the plugs and let them drain for a couple of days. Refill and...
