Re: Spring Start-Up - What to look for?
Lots of GREAT suggestions!!!! you guys just took all the fun out of it. :( Do the basics, then start in on all the rest. Week by week, that will give you something to do, and look forward to. Oh. write it all down with dates. That way you can evaluate what is good for a longer term and what ...

Re: Trafficators - Anyone installed these on their trucks
If you have no tail gate, then you can put it on the back of the cab, as if you were just transporting it.  I have mine on a post in the rear rail 'pocket''. If it becomes an issue, just pull it out and throw it in the back. ( And yes, in Mich. SMV signs are 'supposed' to be on Ag equi...

Re: Trafficators - Anyone installed these on their trucks
nice looking truck. I'd focus on the lights that you have. SMV sign is a good idea, and I added four way flashers. Just get them lights big and bright!!! See you on the road.

Re: Hello
You can't see the frame number until the body and splash apron on the drivers side are removed. Not one of Henry's better ideas. October 1928 the 1929 models were in production. So my 28 is really a 29?! And the frame # is there, not under the body. And I know mine is original. And as you say, Oct....

Re: Hello
Just got home, engine is stamped. *AA532 622* that should be october 1928 if my chart is right. Frame data plate is missing or if frame is stamped I do not see it. On my '28 the frame is stamped on the drivers side, by the starter, Just in front of the cab. On the top of the frame and into the fram...

Re: 28/29 brake hub
I wouldn't trust spray on metal. In may past life I have seen it delaminate. Press in and weld a .100" thick sleeve and turn to true it up. That is what I would do. (and keep an eye open for another one)..Chris Haynes wrote: ↑February 11th, 2018, 11:13 pmPerhaps metal spray on more metal then turn back to stock?

Re: Had my wheels sandblasted and....
Yup. weld it up, grind it off, paint and use..
My dad in law actually welded several parts of a modern wheel , into the old spoke wheel, to make up one that I use all the time..

Re: Warford
Can the gear be "flipped" around, so worn side is at the back? A straight cut gear should work either way. The wear is from more surface contact, as In engaging and disengaging. Not from running. Or it could be from not being fully engaged, or part way in gear. If the gear can not be rever...

Re: Wanted 14" brake shoes
How many shoes do you need? I have plenty, located on west coast. Price $20.00 ea. Let me know. I would guess he would want one of the lighter stamped ones - do you or anyone have a pic? I'm curious as I'm not sure if I've ever seen an AA stamped shoe before. Mine has stamped shoes. Front and back..
