So: I have a 28 steak bed, Is it supposed to have rear fenders? Or was that an option?

Re: 1931 Rear Hub Problem

Remember, for more pulling power use a fine thread. (If your making or rebuilding a puller). And Lube the threads very well.

Re: 1931 Rear Hub Problem

My suggestion: Soak it with penetrating oil, Put a good puller on it and put some presure on with the puller. Then tap on it to give it some vibration to get the Penitrating oil to move in and then more preasure, Tap tap tap. Couple hundred of them. and it should pop off some time. I wish there was ...

Re: 28/29 hood shelves

Excellent information. The picture does show a rubber pointing out. This looks to be the same as mine. New question - my aprons in the front do not fit tight on top of the fender at the very front. Are the 28/29 style similar to the 30/31? I don't know if they are the same but My '28's ride high al...

Re: AA jack tire irons

The hole is used to reverse the jacks up-down function, if you look at the jacks ratchet there is a peg that you hook the handle to which allows you to swing the ratchet in the opposite direction, saves getting under the truck to change direction. Never would have quessed that. Thanks for the info....

Re: AA vs A block

The engines stamped with an "AA" prefix and exactly the same as the engines stamped with an "A" prefix. The AA was a signal to the assembly line that the clutch spring was for an AA. NEIL: Just how old are you!!!!!! You sound like you worked on the line back then. Thanks for all...

Re: 1928 rear ratio

The left hand brake lever should probably more properly be referred to as a "parking brake", since it engaged the same brake shoes as the foot pedal brakes but it locked the brakes on when the vehicle was stopped or parked. Thanks to all. The gears will get changed. And you are correct on...

I vote, Prime then paint rims. Plate the lock rims as original. Do it now or do it latter. You know you want to do it correctly!!

Re: AA jack tire irons

Sq. Vs. round.

A square hole is much more difficult to produce than a round one. Cost of manufacturing issue. So what is the use of the hole? That may lead to what is when.

Re: 1928 rear ratio

Well. Thanks for all the info. My truck is a Dec. 28. Has the Left hand "service brake", no seperate brake shoes. Wire spoke wheels, and the small frt. King pins. So My understanding then is It was ordered with the optional Low speed rear end stamped with an "A". Putting in the h...

Re: 1928 rear ratio

I belive that the very early 28's came with high speed gears only. Later in 28 they came out with the low speed as an option. So yes you would be fine putting a high speed in. Maybe I have it all assbackwards. Either way you can put high speed gears into the low speed rear end and no one would ever...

1928 rear ratio

Was the '28 AA available with both the low and high speed worm drive rear end? I have a low speed in the truck now and want to know if it is "proper" to put in the higher speed ratio.

Thanks in advance for your input.
