Re: Hub Caps for AA
In the photo of the back of the hub cap, I do not see the tabs around the edge that hold the hub cap on the wheel. Please explain. Also why is the Ford script not visible on the back side?

Re: Frame origin
Correct, Spectria, the letters and numbers the article refers to have nothing to do with the VIN numbers. The point of the article is to identify where the vehicle was assembled using the assembly plant identification, when & if they did stamp the vehicle (sometimes) with the identification.

Re: Frame origin
"That is body numbers. There are no body numbers on my May 1930 AA." Chris, did you read the article? It has information on both assembly plant identification and body numbers. Actually the number following the assembly plant i.d. does not mean much of anything, it is the plant i.d that is...

Re: Beware of the new E15 gasoline
Indy 500 cars now run on 85% ethanol fuel. Previously they used 100% methanol fuel but that type of alcohol is very different from ethanol, methanol is corrosive and poisonous. Most states have banned methanol because of the danger of it poisoning groundwater if spilled. Ethanol is the alcohol in be...

Re: WANTED: Sidemount Carrier for early Express box
I guess I recently let my NOS '28 AA hub cap go way too cheap:

Re: Info
I got a reply to an inquiry about the rare '31 AA closed cab "pickup" looking vehicle which had photos posted here. It is near Ontario Canada and the asking price is $4500. That is about 2600 miles from me. I hope maybe some other AA fan can do something with it. This is the email to conta...

Yes, how much and where is it? Looks like it had the deluxe AA front bumper; do you have that? Is that a stainless steel AA radiator shell on it?

Re: Autolite heater door
How do you identify the door you are looking for? If it does not say "Autolite" on it you will need to describe it.

Whether it is a Johnny Cash cobbled together fantasy or the real deal AA it is pretty cool. If someone made a street rod out of it the buyer and seller should both be shot.

Re: Info
Illustrated History of Ford by G. Dammann says:
1929 AA "open" express body $580, closed cab chassis $550.
I have never seen an open express body AA. Does anybody know of one?

Re: Tires and rims fro 30 AA
I just reviewed the Model A Judging Standards wheel information for "Heavy Commercial Vehicles". It says: There are three 5 hole 20" disk wheel variations. 1/30 to 12/30: initial design. 1/31 to 3/31: 1/8" more offset added which gives 1/4" more clearance for duals. (This wo...

Re: Tires and rims fro 30 AA
Brewzer I notice in your last picture the split ring has a big gap in the split. I have worked with many of these and any time i see the gap not closing I expect something is wrong (trouble!). What's with that?
