You mention finally pulling hubs and using a jack and heat. Did you determine what is holding the hub from coming off. Is it rust build-up, or is there a groove wore in the spindle, or whatever else. Also did you just keep applying pressure with the jack along with heat or did you eventually did you...

Hi There, I have taken several of these apart. The shaft is very very tight so I had to press it out. They only go one way towards the strap that you take off the end of the shaft. The shaft is turned down on the other end which s smaller so it can only be pushed the one way. Any questions, email me...

Google "front view 1928 AA FORD". You can get a pretty good idea. I don't think your going to find the radius.. just figure the rise in the center and fair it in.

I hear the noise, sounds like a wood chipper. It sounds like it is related to the speed you are moving. Have you tried jacking it off the ground in the rear and running it through the gears.

The link to that guys situation is worthwhile information. Welding over corrosion can be bad news as it traps all kinds of bad substances that can create nasty fumes. Thanks for the info. Did you just paint the edges of the spring pack or the underside of the protruding springs also?
