Re: Clutch Heaven
I am using the V8 clutch disc and pressure plate. Smoother and stronger. I've heard good things about those V8 clutches, is any kind of a modification necessary to install one? I had a sedan with an original clutch plate, no doubt relined at some point, it was somewhat unforgiving, a little too res...

Re: Clutch Heaven
Thats engaging, would you be willing to share your source for the clutch disk material? I gave up trying to locate a disk with AA specs and installed the A model disk.

Re: mystery number
From the MARC web sight MODEL A FORD ASSEMBLY PLANTS AND BODY NUMBERS by Dave Sturges Glenwood, Maryland I have undertaken a research project to identify the Model A Ford Assembly Plants and their corresponding ID number codes that were stamped onto the bodies of some Model A’s. This Assembly Plant ...

Re: King pins
Just curious, anyone know why A has thrust bearing on top and AA on bottom? Old one ton Chevys and GMCs I used to work on had them on bottom like AA. (Sorry not a very good picture) Good question, pretty sure they can be installed either on top or on the bottom (I think I've done both) but as you s...

Re: Spring Bushings
Filing by hand seems like it would be almost impossible to get it completely round again. Any info the tool or where the picture came from? Searching Perch tool does not result in anything useful that I found. The picture came from this web sight, I think the tool changed hands over this sight, I w...

Re: Spring Bushings
I welded mine over head and filed them, not as easy as welding them inverted but I didn't have to take the truck apart to do it. You could remove them and have a machine shop bring them back to spec then bolt them back on with high grade bolts, getting them off is a challlenge. perch tool.jpg or you...

Re: Steering worm removal.
I've heard good things about the f150 boxes but If you stick with the original consider a shortened pitman arm, hardly noticeable from the original but makes for more responsive steering, i guess the theory being one needed all the leverage they could get for unpaved rutted roads, it is one of the f...
