I'm certainly not an expert, but the information I have read says that in 1930 the only correct wheel color is gloss black, with a cadmium plated ring and nuts. Apparently in '31 you could pay extra and have the wheels painted whatever color you wanted, so its correct from a judging standard to pain...

LPS 3 rust inhibitor works great, just clean the drum with lacquer thinner and a rag before you go to use it.

Power Take Offs

I am looking for a PTO drive for my '31. Does anyone know what years of trucks to look for for donors? Is it possible to use a drive from another brand of truck, etc. There is one advertised near me from a '52 Ford 2 ton for $100, and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a chance it would fit t...

platform/dump body

I once saw an 88-A platform truck on Ebay that said it was modified to have a dumping flatbed. Has anyone done this? It seems you would have the best of both worlds. Thanks in advance to anyone who could provide some details.

Get in contact with Alan Wernstrum and put your name on the list for the possible 4.11 gearset production run. You'll be able to go 50 without an overdrive. The more people who get on board, the more likely it will happen.

thank you Bud and Neil. The box I have must be from a TT as it does not have the wheel wells. It definitely had fenders at one time as there are a series of holes that would correspond to this on both sides. As this truck is not planned to be a restoration but a "get it back on the road" t...

express fenders

I finally got my AA, a '30 rounded style closed cab with an express box. The box is not original to the truck, I believe it was a dual wheel stake bed. Many questions here, I was told this may be a Model T box. Does anyone know how to confirm this? It is a fairly shallow box (like the truck depicted...

Jon, try doing a search for either Tulsa or Braden brands. I had an early Bronco with a little Tulsa PTO winch and it had great pulling power for hand logging.

Neil, His claim of 60 and even 50mph had me in disbelief, however sometimes it's just worth listening and not arguing. I had actually phoned the fellow about an auxilliary transmission and that's how we got to talking about tire sizes and top speed. He said that the Warfords were extremely noisy and...

Neil, Thanks for your input. I asked him about the wheel stud length and he said he had no problem, though I was a bit skeptical. He also claimed 60mph with the 6.50s and 50 with the 6.00s. I guess the 6.00s are the way to go. I was just digging for info before I buy new tires, It's a project and I'...

rear tires for dual wheel

I was wondering what the consensus is regarding the use of 6.50-20 tires on a dual wheel rear. I have been told that the tire width will require a spacer placed between the rims about 1/2inch. I know of one fellow who has done this and says it works. Is the height benefit of the 6.50 versus the 6.00...
