Re: Headache/Lumber Rack
My 2 cents of advice would be to stick to simple materials like angle iron, flat iron, and wood. Do not weld any of it, use nuts and bolts, square head if possible, or solid rivets if you have the energy. That is how something like that would have been cobbled up back in the day. It would be great i...

Re: car and truck show in Bothwell Ontario with our pepsi truck
I got to sit in the driver's seat back in 1985 when I was 10 years old. Apparently high socks were cool then.

Re: Dr. Frank hauling the frieght
You're going to have a hard time hiding the jugs of shine with no stake bed full of hay! I saw a photograph once of a lumber truck used to move booze during the prohibition, it looked like the truck had a full load of lumber, but the center of the stack was hollow and full of crates of booze, and th...

If you have outers made, make sure you provide a drop center or you won't be able to work the tire onto the wheel.

Re: Did you balance your tires?
I had the free opportunity to use a computerized balancer last year, so I balanced the front tires on my AA, I didn't bother with the rears because I am running a larger size and duals, so they will never be on the front. Anyways, the fronts needed between 6 and 8 oz each, which is quite alot of wei...

Re: How to search step by step tire mounting
There is no real magic to it, I have worked as a tire man, and it is like anything else in life, use your common sense. Like has been said before, initially just put in enough air to take shape. What is important is to take up the pressure in stages. Inflate a little, then tap around the ring to mak...

Looks great. You have obviously done alot of work on that truck. It must feel good to have it at that stage now. And your property looks like the Cartrights ranch. Very nice.

Re: Lot #464 1929 Ford AA Fuel Tanker Truck - SOLD
It does seem like a high price, but for it to have reached that number there must have been a few guys at that auction that wanted it bad.

I can't tell you much, other than it is awesome and you're lucky to have it. I love the old period accessories, you won't find one of those in the Mac's catalog!

Re: New insert bearing
Quite some time ago you posted about your Franz filter. I had never heard of such a thing and did some research and was intrigued by them. Shortly after I found two at a weekly junky auction house nearby and I paid $10 for the pair, one of them had the spin on adapter so you can still run the spin o...

Re: New insert bearing
I guess some people's reasoning for frequent oil changes is that it can become acidic and hold moisture from condensation within the engine. Also, maybe some people have fully restored vehicles and have nothing left to do, so it makes them feel good by changing something. I however, do not have this...
