Took the truck back to the farm

Here are a couple of before and after shots of our truck in September of 2006 and again on July 7th, 2012. We tried to place everyone in the same spots in the new photos to show how much our kids have grown as well (and maybe how the adults have fared over 5+ years, too). Pictured are my wife, kids ...

Re: Need some more torque for your AA??

According to the article: "Aluminum engines are lighter than cast iron engines. However, "light" is relative. An aluminum 1,100 cubic inch engine is not going to be as light as an aluminum small block Chevy 350. In this instance, "light weight" is listed in the GAA overhaul ...

Re: Rare AA?

Darwin,
I think Drew may have marked down his offer because of the flower decoration on your windshield - it may not fit the tough, dual-wheeled AA vibe.

Re: Rare AA?

Looks great Darwin! I also like the distributor, oil return and the fan tips. Too bad the dollars spent to get these trucks close to what they once were oftentimes ends up being more than they're worth. I think it's the stories behind the history and restoration of each truck and the learning we do ...

MARC 2012 Grand Tour Oshkosh video

I saw this youtube video on the Fordbarn website but only saw two AA's in it. Just curious if either of these trucks belong to anyone on the AA forum? The two trucks are about 1:36 into the video and are one right after the other. Looks like fun! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdDhv3TWWeY&featur...

Re: Dealer price of a 29 AA?

Sorry Dave, I was $10 off on the price I quoted you. There is a copy of the ad in the 2004 Double A'er. Prices are as follows: Chassis, Cab and Stake Body $610 Chassis, Cab and Platform Body $595 Chassis and Cab $545 Chassis Cab and Express Body $600 How many would we all snap up at that price today!?

Re: Dealer price of a 29 AA?

I'm not sure if the price was different for '29 but I think the 1928 AA with a platform bed was $585.

Brian,
They sure look nice! How did you get them cleaned up and what did you use to paint them? Mine is pretty dirty and greasy but I hope to have it looking as nice as yours someday.

Looks like your truck might actually be an early 1930 (with Budd wheels). Should be a fun truck!
