Side view mirror question

I have three 28 29 truck cowls. One of the three has what looks like factory fasteners for the side view mirror on the drivers side and the other two do not. One of the cowls without the fasteners for the mirror is on an early (left hand emergency brake) 28 one ton frame. I do not know the origin of...

Split rim Question

I am a long time Model A restorer but this is my first AA. I have the split rim wire wheels on my 28 Express. Where can I find info on how to disassemble & re-assemble the split rim safely. I have heard some pretty scary stories about doing this. I do own one of those antique split rim spreaders...

Re: Ford truck restoration

Hi Keith: It looks to me like some basic Ford sheet metal stuck to a non-Ford chassis. The engine isn't Ford, The transmission and E brake lever aren't Ford, and certainly not that front end. It appears the hood has been extended to make up the space at the front. The cowl and fenders are '28/29 A ...

Re: First attempt to post doodlebug photos

You talk about welding the gooseneck and other items together. What method did you use, tig, mig or oxy-acetylene?? Just curious as I suspect alot of Henry's parts are probably cast steel which can be mig welded easily. I always thought those A goosenecks were cast iron but I may be wrong.

That is exactly how I drove my first Model A pick up. It was a blast. Thanks for the memories.

Re: First attempt to post doodlebug photos

What kind of water pump is that you have tucked away in the frame rails. Why not use Henry's original???

One of these days I will put one together as well as I have enough spare parts around to pull it off.

Nice looking tractor. I enjoyed seeing it.
