Re: Oil Filter
I have installed the timing side cover filter Kit and a magnetic drain plug on my Molly. I'm satisfied with it and change oil about every 1,000 miles or 4 months. I could probably go longer intervals, but thats what I have set up right now. I pamper Molly. :D I use Mobil 1 15w-50 synthetic motor oil...

Re: How fast can the 28 Model AA go ?
You do have some options with the heat problem: You could go to a 4 blade or 6 blade cooling fan. If you have the original radiator, you could have it boiled and backflushed. You'd be surprise at what might come out. I originally had heating problems with Molly, my 29AA, After playing with that prob...

Re: AA frame drawing
There are frame dimensions in the “AA Truck Supplement to Restorers Model A Shop Manual”
by Jim Schild.
You may need a magnifying glass to see some of the measurements .

Re: How fast can the 28 Model AA go ?
Hey Rosenkranswa, nice looking truck. When you say “slower gearset”, I’m assuming you are talking about axle gear ratio in the rear end. The 30/31 low speed rear end was a 6.6-1 gearing and at 2350 RPM (cruising speed) your truck should have a speed of 32.6 MPH. At 2000 RPM, which is conside...

Re: corrosion of parts inside my engine??
Your right on E.Moore. Most times these engines were abused as well as sitting around for some 60 years or so.

Re: Henry Ford did more than build cars and trucks.
Rubber...Ford and Firestone were fast friends which included Edison, and Ford would invite him to his Winter estate in Florida. They worked with Edison, another good friend of Fords, to find a cheaper alternative to making rubber, even though Firestone invented it (I think). They were a threesome wh...

He also built the Ford Tri-motor airplane, which was a great plane, but he was sued for copywright infringement and lost a lot of money on it. That is why it was the first and last plane built by ford.

Hey Harry, just noticed your remarks about braking. If your brakes have good shoes and are adjusted properly, you shouldn't have any problems in braking except in the rain.

Re: How fast can the 28 Model AA go ?
Hey Harry, depends on your differential gearing and RPM. 7.25-1 Gear Ratio: 2000 RPM – 25.3 MPH, with Dual Hi – under – 17.2 MPH 2600 RPM – 32.9 MPH, with Dual Hi – under – 22.4 MPH 5.17-1 Gear Ratio: 2000 RPM – 35.4 MPH, with Dual HI – under – 24.1 MPH 2600 RPM – 46.1 MPH, with Dual Hi – under – 31...

Re: Wheel changeover
Information I have is that the Dual Wheel equipment wasn't offered as an option on the AA Truck until 1930. That doesn't mean it can't be done and I'm sure others here may have done it, or tried to do it.

Re: King pins
If you replace the pins...replace the bushings, and you'll need to ream out the new bushings for the pins to fit.

Re: King pins
You should have a tight fit on the kingpins. Elevate the front end, and grab the top and bottom of your front wheel tire. If you are able to rock it back and forth, you probably need new pins. Look at the pin casing while your rocking your wheel, if there's movement between the pin and bushing, you ...
