Re: New Bare Floor Wood, How do I preserve it?

If you bought floor wood from a Model A Vendor, it's probably already pressure treated plywood. Once installed, you can't see it unless you crawl under the truck anyway, and the top would be covered with the floor mat. :? I personally painted mine on both sides with a porch and floor enamel, dark gr...

Re: need a 7 tooth pinion.

This is what I got Luke. It has some scaring, but not unusual with the pinion as it turns 5X to one turn of the ring gear. I'm sorry but I don't see a problem with the pinion in your pics, maybe I'm missing something, but it's all relative to the eye of the beholder. If you want my pinion I'll put i...

Re: Gaskets for differential

Good info tired guy. I saw the .060 and .070 pinion bearing sleeve shims in the 30-31 AA Ford's Part List, but in the Service Bulletins, February 1930, it only states that those shims are available, but couldn't find info as to why and when they were used. I must have missed something? Maybe Neil co...

Re: Need PTO for 1928 AA with 3-speed/2-speed set up

Sorry Truckman, I don’t have any PTOs actually in my possession. I checked with my source and he checked his “junk yard” and came up with several various 1&2 gear 6 bolt PTOs, but no 4 bolt. He had thought he had a few. :(

Re: Gaskets for differential

Since I have my differential apart, I can show you where the thin cork gasket is fitted into the groove on the back of the flange of the pinion gear sleeve. There are no other gaskets that I am aware of other than the differential housing gasket. The metal "shim" #AA-4659, is a shim (.005&...

Re: AA Spindles

The 28-29AAs used front springs with AA part numbers.
Concerning front springs: check the post dated 16 December titled “AA Front Springs”. Neil put a lot of info concerning AA springs on that post.

Re: AA Spindles

According to the Ford Price List, the 28-29 AA carried an AA part # AA-3105-AR for the spindle assembly and AA part # AA-3030-AR for the front spring perch. Most of the front end in the 28AA was the same as the Model A. :o I’m sure from production of all the AAs to current time, the possibility exis...

Re: Imposter emails

Occasionally I get e-mails from friends and people I have corresponded with on line, selling Viagra or pharmaceuticals from a Canadian source. The next day my friends e-mail me that they didn't send those e-mails. Whomever is doing this bundles the e-mail addresses into bundles of 20-30 and sends th...
