I'll second that. 1.47 to 1 reduction.

I have lift off!

Well, a day I waited for for nearly a decade. With the "rare as hen's teeth" 4-bolt PTO installed I was able to lft my 2 1/2 yard dump body. The hoist is a Wood, and I think that the body is as well, but it has no markings. I found the dump body at a salvage yard about 18 years ago. The ho...

Re: WANTED 4-Bolt PTO for 1928 AA

Thanks Neil.

I just got the U-joint and latch parts for the tail gate delivered, so as soon as I make a keyed shaft, I'll be ready to attempt a lift. fell like a kid at Christmas. Good timing!

So, pictures, anyone, of levers in the cab?

Re: PTO for hi lo gearbox

I finally have one, but there was only the one to be had. I wish you all the best.

Do you have any pictures of the levers that come through the floor to engage/disengae the PTO?

Re: WANTED 4-Bolt PTO for 1928 AA

What a happy day! I have installed the four bolt PTO, and it works like a charm. Now, I still have some work to do. I ordered a U-joint so that I can connect it to the hydraulic pump. Assuming that the pump will pump and the cylinder will push, I should be able to raise the dump body. Anyone have pi...

Re: WANTED 4-Bolt PTO for 1928 AA

So help my memory, did I get that photo from you? So many have ythought they had a 4-bolt but actually had aan SAE 6-bolt. (I have two of those.)

How can we connect and do this?

Re: 28-29 Radiator

The other problem with the water pump is location. In a modern engine the pump is down at the engine inlet. The full column of water in the radiator supplies the suction side and the pump forces water through the engine block. It is therefore pumping the coldest water in the system and with back pre...

Re: 28-29 Radiator

Ok, I don't want to be argumentative, but the more water that flows through your cooling system, the greater the ability of that water to remove heat. Slow down the water and you reduce the temperature delta. I do this for a living. Even if such a thing existed as too much flow one would never get i...

Re: PTO for hi lo gearbox

I have been looking for one for years. It is a 4-bolt. Many people think that they have what you need, but remind them it is a 4-bolt.

Good luck. if you find two of them, please remember me!!!

Did you buy these? Is either of them a 4-bolt mounting?

Re: 28-29 Radiator

By the way, if pushing water out of the overflow is an issue, do you have a good deflector? I know that my previous radiator had it half rusted away and it pushed water out of the overflow. My current radiator has a good deflector and does not spit liquid unless I fill it to the gills.

Re: 28-29 Radiator

I am not sure why one would want to slow down the water flow. Sufficient water flow is necessary to prevent heat build up in the engine. As water contacts the hot cast surfaces within the engine, small steam bubbles form. This is the means of heat transfer. The flow of coolant keeps these bubbles mo...
