Re: Ever heard of???

In the Post Publications book titled "Those Wonderful Unauthorized Accessories for Model A Ford", you can find, on page 243, a advertisement from July 1931 for the Little Giant frame extension for the Model A chassis. This book is a collection of advertisements for Model A and AA accessori...

Re: Ever heard of???

Little Giant Products, Inc from Peoria, IL was one company that made frame extensions for the Model A chassis for the purpose of mounting light delivery bodies. Their extension increased the wheelbase from 103 inches to 129 inches.

Hello Rollingsculpture,

I probably can find you a decent one. Have lots of chassis and I'm only over here in PA. I'll have to take one out of a chassis for you though. Leave me check for sure and I'll get back to you with a price and condition.

Re: A & AA radiators

Just thought I'd post a note on a additional radiator style you may run into. According to the Service Bulletins dated April 1930, there was a 4 row, flat tube radiator (AA-8005-AR) that was being used in trucks "recently built" of this date. One of my current projects, an early '30 AA, ha...

Re: Question on split rims

Hello Neil, I incorrectly referenced the Service Bulletins and should have the Indianapolis Service Letters on that date (7-24-29). It states "Balloon tires have been adopted as standard equipment on the front wheels of the Model AA truck. The front tire equipment is now 6.00X20 heavy duty six-...

Re: Question on split rims

I also have found some of the '29 reverse dished wheels marked "CLEV WELD". Just a note on tire sizes. The "30X5" and "32X6" were high pressure tire sizes. The "30X5"s were used on the front ends until around July 1929 when according to a July 24, 1929 Service...

Re: Tail Pipe

Hello Larry, I don't know anybody making the correct tailpipes for the long-wheelbase AA's. There are pictures of the different AA exhaust systems in the April 1931 Service Bulletins and in the AA section of the Judging Standards. Three of the four chassis shown have a AA-5230 muffler instead of the...

Re: 20 inch Rims, AA and BB??????????

Hello Bruce, In the July 1932 Service Bulletins, the difference is shown between the two types of wheels being supplied for the double B's. The split style lock ring fits the wheels with a 70 degree groove. A solid continueous lock ring was used on wheels with a 90 degree groove. This servcie bullet...

Re: How much does it weigh?

Neil,

On page 69 of A. G. McMillan's book Ford Model A/AA Truck Owner, it states "Maximun load with dual wheels 2 1/4 tons". If I'm not mistaken these pages are from a Truck Salesman Truckfax manual.

Re: 28-29 wheel studs?

Hello Luke, Depending on the year of your truck, it may have originally used all right-hand threaded studs. From the beginning to February 1929, all trucks used right-handed wheel hardware on both sides. Around this time Ford changed the spindle, increased the size of the wheel bearings, and install...

Re: Warford adapter

Hello Rustngreese, The only way I know of identifing the different Warfords is the size of the input splines. The '28-29 Warford has input splines that measure approximately 1.0865 at its' greatest diameter. In contrast, the '30-31 Warford has a input spline measurement of approximately 1.240. A spe...
