Re: 1931 AA Truck from the MAFCA Site

ModelAkid: Thanks for answering my question. I agree with you that it is probably the standard gear ratio rear differential what with the speeds you've described. It's cool that you have an extra high-speed rear differential. An easy way to check what ratio is in your truck is to remove the speedome...

Re: 1931 AA Truck from the MAFCA Site

ModelAkid:

Thanks for the reply. I'll bet the bed wood is original being that the entire truck is pretty much in it's original state.

What ratio rear end is in the truck? Is it the low-speed (6.0:1) or the high-speed (5.14:1)? What's the fastest speed that you've driven the truck?

Re: 1931 AA Truck from the MAFCA Site

ModelAKid:

The bed strips are painted black. Somebody must have painted them over the years. They should be the same paint as the bed and cab. Right? Was the bed wood ever replaced?

Re: Paint

Mac:

Haul the frame to a place that does sandblasting, then you won't have to worry if it's lead-based paint. That's what I did. I have no idea, if the original paint contained lead. Wouldn't surprise me it it did.

Re: 1916 AA (who'd a thunk) for sale

All,

Is that a "Grain" bed? I agree with others that the price is too high, but it sure looks like a good start for somebody.

Re: 1930 Model a truck

Bob C and Chris Haynes: Bob, thanks for the info and photos. Chris, thanks for posting the drawing of the 28/29 Warford. It's like the one I had several years ago. Anybody: Why is it that all the AA Warfords I've seen for sale are only for 28's and 29's? I've been in the AA hobby for about 57 years ...

Re: 1930 Model a truck

Bob C: Why do you say that? A few years ago, I had a Warford tranny for a 28/29 AA. It looked somewhat different than the one that is for sale here. But, I understand the Warford tranny for a 30/31 AA looks somewhat different than the one for 28's and 29's. How can one tell the differences? Thanks i...

Re: Hello, info needed

gunmetal 2: I'm not trying to steal the truck from the seller. I'm not even interested in it. Please re-read my two posts. I believe the seller was attempting to find out how much the truck might be worth. I realized this and tossed out my opinion in hopes that others would follow. They did so. I ho...

Re: Beware of thieves

Chris:

If you haven't already done so, I'd file a police report too. If you have any photos of the bed, have them included in the report. You'll need a police report should you decide to claim the loss on your renter's or homeowner's insurance.
