Re: Roof install - pneumatic stapler or original tacks?

When I did my top I used two ice picks. You pull the fabric tight from corner to corner first using the ice picks to hold it, then advance around the top alternating from side to side and front to back. The ice picks make a smaller hole then the tacks and you can start the tack in the hole without m...

Re: 1929 survivor on ford barn

You're right. The owner uses it to advertise his tire business and moves it every two days to a different location. The pictures were taken inside his tire store last month. The signs on the sides of the truck are attached to the sideboards. Something that hasn't been said about the truck is that it...

1929 survivor on ford barn

Right now there is a very nice '29 AA listed in the swap meet section of "the ford barn" web sight. I have seen this truck and even posted pictures on the ford barn sight for the owner because he said he couldn't. I won't comment on the price but the quality of this truck is outstanding!! ...

Re: Interesting AA on Ebay

The man said he might take this truck to B-J auction if someone didn't buy it. The thing about that is, there has to be at least two people there that want the truck for it to get to his price and I don't think there are that many delusional people out there.

Body Parts question

I'm building a cargo body for my truck and need to know where I can buy the skid strips for the floor. I'm sure there are threads that give this information but I haven't been able to find any. If anyone knows of a vendor that has them, I would be forever grateful. Thanks in advance. N. Reed

Re: Question on two bar bumper for AA truck

Just got the new bumpers from Mac's. The $25.00 difference got the better of me. They turned out to be $285.00 instead of $275.00 as listed in their latest catalog. If this was the only issue it would have been fine but as it turned out there were several things wrong with the new bars that made the...

Re: Question on two bar bumper for AA truck

Bratton measured the bars that they had in stock and they said they were the same length, height, and thickness as the ones shown on my truck as seen in my avatar. They are about $60.00 more then the ones for the A. Can only hope they are right.

Re: Question on two bar bumper for AA truck

The bumpers are listed on page number 141, the second item up from the bottom on the left side in Bratton's catalog. The order number is 24341. They are in Mac's catalog on page 196,top right. Number is AA17750BS. They are listed in Bratton's catalog as $300.00 each but I called them and they said i...

Re: Question on two bar bumper for AA truck

Thanks to both Pat and Neil for your responses. Bratton and Mac's both offer the stainless bar bumper for $300.00 plus shipping. The others may as well, I just haven't looked in their catalog yet. I haven't found the bolts for the ends so I made two new ones which are supposed to be painted black bu...

Question on two bar bumper for AA truck

Need to know if anyone knows if the two bar stainless bumper sold for the AA truck is actually made of spring steel. I have a set of original chrome bumpers that need re-chromed badly. The nearest chrome shop wants $250.00 for each bar. The stainless bars are $300.00 for the pair. If the new bars ar...

I've already got your site bookmarked and I'm heading to the barn right now. Many thanks!! I couldn't find the site for the 82a cab right away but I'll keep trying and post it as soon as I can.

Re: Interior Uphostery Pictures?

I'll second the motion. Just started putting my kit together and sure could use the pictures also. There was no interior left in my truck when we got it home and it seems like I'm guessing on every move I make. There are pictures for the 28-29 trucks but I can't find any for the 82b cab. Thanks to a...

Re: transmission oil

Most all "A" parts suppliers have 600w oil for sale. It isn't really 600 weight like you usually think of gear oil. It's closer to 140 weight. They just call it 600w. I read once how they got to that number but I've forgotten.
