Hello Eric,
This as nothing to do with what I want , I myself are following the recommendations on this forum , I was hoping that somebody may have been able to explain the reasons why , I guess not --- However there comments can be seen on Ford Barn in yesterday’s postings.

Brake Linings revisited
There was a discussion on FordBarn regarding brake fade , there were many causes discussed , I mentioned that mismatching the linings (woven with cast drums) and (bonded with steel drums) can cause brake fade , it seems that nobody had ever heard of this and have in fact used the combinations above ...

Re: Can Someone ID this Stakebed?
Hello Spectria,
It is a Ford supplied stake body 185A used between May 1930 – Dec 1930, there is a story in the DOUBLE A’ ER 2008 edition, I’m sure Neil Wilson will fill you in some more about it.

1928 HUB CAPS
Can somebody tell me the diameter of the hub caps that fit the 1928 wire wheels, and did they have made in the USA along with the Ford script?
I know they are hard to find, so what would the average price for them be in useable condition.

Hello Todd,
Where are you located? I am west coast and maybe getting a transmission that has a 2 speed unit attached with linkage which I don’t need , however I do not know the condition of either of them yet , I will keep you posted .

Re: 1931 20" wire wheels
Hello bgj1956,
The wheels that Chris is looking for are for the ambulance or funeral coach.they also use different brake drums, I think you said you have a set of wire wheels for a 28, as they and the 6 spoke do not fit your dump truck do you think you may sell them.

Hello Gordy,
Ask the seller if he knows what city it was sold in, it may tell us what assembly plant it was built in, sometimes possible to find the original sales receipt, Steve Puckers web site has many interesting facts, mostly for cars your engine was 1 of 7011 made on 5-6-31

Re: 29 rear springs
Did the rear spring eyelets have steel inserts as well as a bushing from the factory, mine were the same way and had worn the eyelet pear shaped, I used a copper pipe fitting for the time being that the bushing fitted perfectly and made a crescent shaped shim to fill the gap. I shall be redoing my s...
