The builder did a great job on that rig, no? It's always so cool checkin' out these beasts.

Re: got to drive it today

Hey Mike. Don't know a thing 'bout Lester Tires, but YeeeHawww and good on ya gettin' that beast on the road. Well done. There's a truckload of us here lookin' forward to the day we get our rigs back on the blacktop. A pic of the beast is mandatory and we'll all be watchin' for it. Just don't keep u...

Re: 29 AA 2500 buck seattle area nice/

I think technically it's missing cab and bed, so 2500 might be a bit steep.

Re: Is it a sin...

Howdy Adam. I believe these split rims are something that are still being used a lot today on trucks and other commercial equipment so you should be finding plenty of shops that can work on them. Also i've found that this type of rims make it easy for us folks to change tires quite easily without he...

Re: Did you balance your tires?

Howdy Boomer. The beads work great on airplane tires which often spin up to 70 mph or more, so i imagine they'd work well on our trucks too.

Dynamic balancing of car and truck tires is done at quite a slow speed and is not just for fast freeway speeds, so i imagine it would help our trucks too.

Re: Neat period picture of a Ford AA

Would be nice to check it out up close. Like the ATHS fellow said, interesting rear wheels. Friction drive spreader. Gotta love the simplicity. These ol' rigs of ours sure humped it out during the dawn of the industrial age. That's what i dig about my truck. It was there, and worked hard like the fe...

Re: Powder coating Wheels

Yep, it's far more durable. That's a good thing on bicycle frames and such, but i don't think wheels get subjected to much abuse as long as one is careful with installing and removing the wheels.

Ah. I've not gotten to that part of the truck yet so others are going to need to chime in for ya on that. Some here are surely well versed in top replacements, and will likely be givin' ya some info before long.

Re: Powder coating Wheels

A good durable paint is probably cheaper, and it wouldn't be incorrect. The split rim was plated at the factory, not painted. I powder coated my wheels. They look peachy, but in doing so i un-neccesarilly burned some cash that could have gone to something else. Rattlecan paint can be scratched by a ...

Wow Clark. Way sharp lookin' truck. Postin' pics like that really helps keep the motivation going for a lot of us i'm sure. I've not lifted a wrench in a while now, but seein' what others are accomplishing keeps me interested for sure. Thanks for the pic. Hopefully one day i'll have something to sho...

Re: Fan clearence problem

Howdy Edgy. I've noticed the same alignment issue on my partially assembled chassis at the crank and crank pulley, that you're having. I figured it was due to the fresh front mount springs, but on second thought i may need to have another look at the repop springs themselves. Perhaps they're too lon...
