Re: Floor mats?

Just get on Bratton's web site and click on "contact us" and let them (Jeff) know. They answered my email in a couple hours. They still think they are ordering a small quantity of mats. More people should let them know so that they order enough.

Re: Cant find worm axle seals

Yes, but you do realize that the Chicago Rawhide seal originally had a sealing lip that the spring provided tension for, right? The new ones you show should be fine.

Re: Maybe this is why the service brake handle was moved.

Yes, I am also glad this discussion came up. I am learning something here also. The Jim Schild book on AA Truck says "When the separate parking brake system was introduced in early 1928, ....". I would take this to mean that one would not find "28-29's" with only one system. How ...

Why aren't your service brakes controlled by the pedal?

Re: floor plate fab for 30-31

Would this be an original for the plate you are making? notice the raised area. it looks like that may have been used to gain some strength; not sure it was needed to clear something underneath.

In the May 1. 1931 version of Body Parts List, the Strip (floor) for 131 1/2" 88-A platform is AA-88180-R. For the Express 89-A, there is AA-89180-R Strip (floor) center and AA-89183-R Strip (floor) side. For the 157" 185-A, there is the AA-185145 Strip (floor board skid). For the 157"...

Re: boot.....

I believe the service part number for the hand brake lever weather pad is A-35239-R per Body Parts List. It is not in the Aug 15, 1930 issue, but appears in the May 1, 1931 issue, page 30.

Re: Tire

Old style balloon tires had an aspect ratio of 100 percent, where section height equals section width. The 5.25 should be the section width, if quoted properly.
