Hello Aaron, There were more versions of the Manley cranes than the Weaver. I don't know which is more rare. I would guess that a Manley would be worth about the same as a Weaver. If you know of an excellent Manley with all the parts, then that seems to be the one to go for. Attached is a page from ...

Aaron, I don't know of any auto cranes for sale currently. I would think that a good complete Weaver Auto Crane should be worth $1500 and maybe more. In 1997 a group of five AA'er got some Weaver parts reproduced so that our cranes were complete. The attached picture shows the parts. These are the m...

Rob, Ford never had an AR car or truck! This term is something which restorers have come up with to identify early A's and AA's. However, the term is mostly meanless as far is identify the month of the vehicle. During the Model A era, the parts lists were changed as new parts (which were not backwar...

Hello Clarke, I believe that both of the items your reference are aftermarket. I believe that you are correct on the three cans being for gas, oil, water. I have seen these mounted in a bracket which mounts vertical onto the side of the cab. I have also seen the cans enclosed in a metal box. But, ma...

ogersbronco,
What is the length of the stud (from the center flang to the outer end). And is it right or left handed?

The length of the front wheel bolt changed at least once in 1930. I may have what you are looking for if Bert's does not have one.

Drew,
There is a ball installed on each end of the shaft. The brackets clamp onto these balls. If the balls need replacement, then you might want to remove the shaft before blasting. Otherwise, I would just remove the brackets.

Drew,
I assume that you are refering to the levers on the outside of the frame. If you can not drive them out, you will have to drill them out. This is not an easy part to disassemble.

Sunny,
May would be considered mid 1931 and you should have the '31-'33 wheels. All '30-'33 wheels have a date (like 5-31) stamped on the inside between two lug bolt holes.

Sunny,
There was an AA-7550 clutch disc assembly used on AA's with the single disk clutch (from late '28 to end of production). I don't know the specifications on it. The A clutch disk will work fine unless you are going to hauling heavy loads.

Chris,
FYI - I think that the 4 row radiator was released as a service part in mid 1930 and was for the '28-mid '30 AA's. But the '28/'29 shell was still used. The only AA shell was for the '30/'31 style 82-B and 76-B cabs.

AA157'31,
Your need the five spoke (hole) wheels. If your truck is early '31 then you can use either the '30/'31 wheels or the '31-'33 wheels.

Chris,
FYI - the '28/'29 commercial radiator shells are the same as the passenger cars except for the plating. If your shell has poor plating, then it might just as well be stripped and painted as a commercial shell.

Yes Matt,
The '30/'31 takes AA parts. And, Eric's suggestion seems to be the best regarding getting the balls restored.

Matt,
I see that reconditioned steering (spindle) arms (right and left) are in the Snyder's 888-262-5712, Bratton's800-255-1929, and Bert's 800-321-1931 catalogs.
