question for the painters amoung us.

I want to paint my truck with a faded, worn paint job? This can be done with the use of flat paint. My question is, is there a "flat" clear coat finish product to protect the paint job?

torque on the rear axle nut.

A mid year 30 truck. Has the bango jug.
1. Other then damn tight, is there a torque on these nuts prior to inserting the cotter pin?
2. A. What about the pivet point nut. Just tight enough to insert the cotter pin?
B. How much side to side play, if any, be allowed?

Re: just realized one more thing.

Good question Neil. To answer your question I'm not positive the springs are for an A car. That was an assumption. Being new to AA's and A's for that matter, I don't know a great deal about them. The springs and cross member may in deed be from an earlier truck. The serial number on my truck makes i...

just realized one more thing.

I figured out the front springs could not be the correct spring. They are car springs. OK, got a set of AA springs. Got then a couple days ago and noticed the AA springs are to wide for the cross member. I knew something was fishy when I pulled the fenders off and saw the front cross member was bolt...

Am I the only one?

Am I the only one who after buying something comes to the realization, where I'm going to keep this? When I bought this AA, it didn't all that big. There was no bed on it, it didn't look very big. When I got it home I tore it down on the driveway and carried parts in. Now that its going back togethe...

what engine hop-up parts have you used?

Has any one used any hop-up parts on their AA's? Ie.. high compression head, tour ground cam, dual carbs, headers, over sized valves? Is it bolt-on power? What do you think of the change?

Since I live in the center of the U.S. why don't all you come to my house for BBQ and beer, even if a root beer? It's time to break out the old Weber.
