Stakebed,
The only flat top hub nut in the pic that Neil posted is on the upper left as he so kindly pointed out before, however I have 10 of these that are clean with some pitting, any ideas as to value?, I will post a pic when I return from the UK.

Re: Any suggestions on how to repair?
I would be inclined to leave it alone, my reason being is the truck will most likely only be driven with little load to shows, parades, or short tours as I do with our club, I think this way it would outlive most folks here on this board. Find another coupler, this will reduce the wear by a half, I ...

Re: To File or not to File?
Spectria, It seems to me to be rude to answer for others, especially with your opening statement, Brady is a go to person for usable info. To answer your post it is a well known fact that the A engine crank flexes badly due to its small diameter, no counter weights and a very heavy flywheel 68# + pr...

Re: To File or not to File?
Hello Cliff I don't see any reason not to, instead of filing use some medium course wet and dry emery paper and a flat surface such as a table saw or flat plate glass to sand them down, it will not take much to remove a few thousandth, so recheck often ----- If you end up to close then you will need...

Red, go to the e-bay site for pics, ------ this truck is in my back yard so to speak about 50 miles away, looks as if it would be an easy restore. ----- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/261271866970?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fmotors.shop.ebay.com%3A80%2Fi.html%3F_trksid%3Dp2041643.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0%26_nkw%3D26...

Re: Condenser Testing
Hello Marty, This is a post from Fordbarn by Special Coupe Frank explains the basics. Quote----To test with an ohm-meter, first "short" the insulated terminal to the case, to fully discharge the capacitor, then touch the leads of your Ohm-meter, one to the case, the other to the insulated ...

30-31 king pin set and front shackles
I have a NORS of king pins and front shackles, for the late 29-thru end of production AAs, they are US made, the king pins were made by reputable company that was to be taken over by TRW an existing parts supplier, the shackles are US made by Bulldog who are still making antique auto parts, I am ask...

Re: Dual High Pictures
Hello Red, Ever thing was cleaned of old crease when it was apart a year and a half ago, I had to remove the lower half of the rear u-joint housing to drain what was left of the cornhead, the front u-joint I removed the grease fitting to drain it. I believe the mixing of greases is more critical wit...

Re: Dual High Pictures
I used the John Deere cornhead grease in my U-joints, but have now switched back to using the red Mystic grease, the reason for this is that the cornhead turned to oil and leaked out of the felt seals on the housings.

Re: ?? quality/fit of Howell's Sheetmetal ??
The best way to buy the panels is thru one of the venders, that way if you are unhappy with the quality you will get no hassle returning them, I think Howells are the only supplier to the venders.

Here are some pics of the left handbrake boot posted by Charles Reese on Fordbarn, it is unclear as to whether they were installed on the early production vehicles.
