Re: WTB: Race for main bering for dual high

Hello Luke,
I dont believe there were any numbers on the race, however there probably are some on the roller bearing frame, ------ contact 1crosscut he as just overhauled his and he may have noted the numbers ------ IF the bearing is still available and I am sure it will come with the race.

U-JOINT ID

I picked this u-joint up at a swap meet this past weekend, it has the same cross and bearing size that the model has, and the bearings are snug ---- It isn't for an AA that I know of, it has 16 splines both ends, the diameter is just short of and inch and a quarter, and is five and a half inches lon...

29 Front spindle

I am replacing the front axle due to wear in the right side spindle bolt bore and zero camber in the left side, it is possible that the spindle maybe bent , so I am asking if anyone may have one available should I need it, must have good bearing surfaces and threads.
Thanks Brian T.

Re: AA Door Alignment

Hello JW,
Here is a LINK to Marco Tahtaras Web site that explains the adjustments, they are for a Fordor sedan but the method is the same, have fun.

Re: Brake cross shaft problems

The rivits appear to be 1/4 inch, if you already have a hole drilled use a punch that will fit in the hole, you will need a helper the other side to buck up the arm with something hollow such as an old socket, they will need to keep some pressure on while you hammer out the rivit.
Good luck.

Re: Brake cross shaft problems

Hello Stakebed,
As Neil mentioned those rivits are tough to remove it takes 2 to remove and refit them, if the shaft is rusted thru as bad as you say then it would be best to find another shaft, Snyders have a repair kit that has the bushings and rivits.

The left hand E-brake boot is completely different from the boot shown, here is a pic of the blanking plate which shows the shape, they do have the retainer plate also , but no boot.

AAs at the Orange county model A club pancake breakfast

Well it was a good day at the Orange county pancake breakfast yesterday for Double As, two winners in best commercial took first pace, myself for 28-29 and Mike James for 30-31. Mike is from Fontana Ca, and so is his truck, it was sold by a Ford dealer there to a vineyard in 1931 and used for many y...

Re: what a newsletter!

Hello JW,
The outer rim on the rear wheels are often painted to match the front it makes they appear that they have a lock ring, I do not believe that is the way the factory did them.

Re: High speed rear end advertised on ebay

Actually I think the it is one of the nicer ones your going to find. Dave I have to agree, However I would not buy one that I could not see all the teeth all the way around, the reason being if this axle had been parked with 90w-140w EP oil which contains sulfur, this causes the bronze to soften ca...

Re: Teacup tail lights For Sale

Probably buy this bundle for $60-$70 at a swap meet, late in the day and sometimes dependent on the weather, swap meet vendor prices can be miles apart for the same items, I have found many good pieces in the dollar piles, you just need to know what you want and don't need.

Re: AA Floor Mat

Why is a mat for a '28/'29 AA different than an A? Don't they both use the same 3 speed tranny? The only difference I see would be the holes for the [you know what I mean] Hi-Low unit, after measuring I cut mine out with a hole saw. BTW how was Turlock?, I had an economy trip worked out this year, ...

Re: AA Floor Mat

Hello Pat,
Snyders and Berts still show the rubber mat on there web sights, are they saying they no longer supply them?, I got mine about 3 years ago, does not fit exactly but looks OK.

RUSTY WET LOOK

I have seen that some Double Aers have kept there trucks with the wet rusty look, I have this drum that my son found which as added to all the other farm display stuff we have accumulated, I wanted to have it powder coated, my son and a few friends have said it should stay naturally rusty. So my que...
