Can wheel snap rings be re-arched?

I just had the old tires removed from my rims today. One ring doesn't fit into the wheel very well. It has twist in it like a spring. Can this be corrected and does anyone know the technique or who I could send it too? The ring is in great shape in regards to rust and pitting. I understand replaceme...

No luck yet, Mike. I hope to find a puller instead of trying to have one made.

Hub puller?

Are there any hub pullers available on the market for the AA that are any good? I have three of them off but ran into a stubborn one on the rear. Any help is appreciated!

Spring spreaders from parts suppliers

Can the "best" spring spreaders from Bratton's, etc. be used on the AA rear springs?

Head bolts that won't budge?

I've been soaking them with WD40 for a week and a half. Any suggestions? Also, I found a lot of rust on the domes of the head as well. How do I clean it up without ruining the head? Or is it too far gone? I'll try to post some pictures in the next few days.
Thanks,
Drew

I was finally able to lift the body and see the number tonight after removing a layer of rust. I was glad to see that the numbers match. Thanks for the info on the date of assembly and everything. My father-in-law will be as interested to find all of that out as I was. Thanks!

Mike,
The top rear of the cab definitely looks square to me. What should that tell me?
I think I have to learn how to remove some rivets before I can get to that frame number. Any pointers for a novice on removing rivets?
Thanks,
Drew

Help with build date from Engine # - just curious

I was finally able to pick up the AA that my father-in-law grew up with this past weekend. I don't have the cab off yet to get the serial # off the frame but the engine # is AA1865050 with a star at the beginning and the end. Any info from this number would be appreciated, Thanks!

Tip on books/printed resources for AA restoration

Hello, I'm new to this site and to AA's. My father-in-law and I are going to attempt to restore the AA his dad bought new in 1929. It has been sitting in a farm shed for at least the last 26 years. I would like to know which printed materials would be considered essential to make this as easy as pos...
