Re: dual high paint color?

my guess would be black as well. Werent they made by Detroid Gear and Machine co? cant imagine ford sending them paint to paint them green when any old black will do.

interesting battery cutoff

found this while looking for work related stuff: https://www.mpja.com/Battery-Cutoff-...info/34780+SW/ cant say ive ever seen one with a lever. Might make for a hidden rod operated one, easier to kick on off with a foot, might be easier to operate in a push pull fashon for people with arthritis. $15...

Re: overheating

Hmm yes many people overfill the radiator - needs to just cover the upper baffles. Radiator can be clean as whistle but if the fins have too much paint or are so loose they dont contact the tubes well they cant "wick away" heat and cause overheating. Since you say its in 2 minutes i doubt ...

Re: Help

Engine is from 28 but that frame is not. Frame number should be stamped about where your left foot rests on the frame rail while driving. Frame looks pretty good so should be able to see the number. Just a heads up but those are the wrong rims for those axles and stick out much farther than they sho...

Re: Extended Fuel Range - How do you overcome this?

I see your in Canada land but some states here in the US dont allow metal cans to be filled at service stations. I would securely make some kinda mount in the bed and find a way to keep the sun off the can but that seems like the easiest solution. Just dont forget to fill the can and the truck up be...

Re: Paint pattern for 1931

From my understanding ford would paint the color a custom color upon request (and $$$). But period correct it could be anything and everything the business wanted their trucks to look like so id imagine somewhere at some point they had 2 tone paint jobs.

Re: Log truck and trailer brakes

Thanks for the advice, gentlemen. I'm assuming that in the era of the Model A's and mechanical brakes, semi trailers simply did not have brake axles. Is this a fair assumption? Also, when choosing a chassis to build a log truck project (or any truck with a fifth wheel to pull a semi-trailer), would...

Re: Express bed boards

agreed - looks like the cone insulator/actuator broke apart and spring shorted out the contact to ground.

If you paint the fuse holder a nice satin black it blends in nicely with the engine compartment.
