This type tool is used on Cushman Motorscooters to remove flywheels and clutches. Other machines use them too. They work well.

I learned that it fits the large socket used on the nut in the outer ends of the rear axle

I have thought about this a lot so that the truck can be used often.
The rear axle seems to be what limits use of the truck, even more than the original engine.
what rear axle are you two using??

It seems to me that if the original brakes worked OK when hauling 1 1/2 tons in 1931, it ought to be OK now.
