Re: Drag Link Spring & Front Brake Rod
The drag link uses same parts as tie rod. You can get all the parts to rebuild it for less than 10 bucks. All the suppliers stock them. Snyders part #A-3305-S. They have rods too.

Re: Timing gear shreaded
I had a rebuilt 6 cylinder in a GM 1 ton in my fleet of bakery trucks years ago. After it stripped the third gear they sent me an aluminum one. Never stripped again but you could hear the truck coming up the alley to the plant three blocks away. Whirred like a space ship on a 1950 sci-fi movie!

Re: Hub Puller
I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. I did do like some of the guys here suggested and cut the center out of one of my junk wheels for an adapter. I haven’t gotten to rear axle yet. Decided to pull engine first.

Re: FAQ for AA dummies?
Get the book, “Ford Model A/AA Truck Owner” by A. G. McMillan. It has everything you need to know. There are drawings giving dimensions and lots of information. The cabs aren’t real roomy. You might want to see one in person for that. I have my AA project in a standard size single car garage 15’ x 2...

Re: Radiator brace
My mistake. On closer inspection in better light I can see where someone has filled the bracket holes on the driver side, but why? Who knows.

Transmission Support
How do you support the transmission while the engine is out? I will have to roll truck away from hoist so I can’t keep jack under it.

Radiator brace
My 1930 AA only has a radiator brace bracket on right (passenger) side. No holes or any sign that there ever was one on opposite side. The radiator has a bracket for two rods?

Spindle Bearing
I looked unsuccessfully at all the local bearing supply and auto supply houses for replacement spindle bearings for my ‘30 AA; so I soaked and cleaned multiple times on my old ones and after all the dried up grease was removed and oiled they seem smooth, and I believe they will be useable. However I...

OK, I added one to my Christmas list! Haven’t started on rear axle yet. Working on front axle and engine. I guess I will work my way back.
