Re: What year is this?

I'm new to this site so would like to say "Howdy" to everyone. I have this Model a in storage and need to part it out to make space. I do not live in same area as storage but I am in process of moving there. I will visit this month so I can look closer for ID marks. Where will I find the ...

Do you clean the metal and treat before you weld in the reinforcement?

Re: AA Worm Drive Flat Towing

My only experience with worm drives is with winches and various farm and construction machinery. Most of them are designed to resist being driven by turning the output shaft. In other words, the winch resists being spooled by pulling on the cable. Therefore, a clutch or coupling is included for the...

Re: Tire size and tread pattern

Hey guys, Been poking around in the forum for this but can't seem to find it. Looks like 600 x 20 is the tire for a 1930 dual wheel but what tread pattern is preferred? I'm looking at Coker sku# 761399 but I've no idea. I've clicked add to cart a half a dozen times but keep chickening out. Don't wa...

Re: What is the minimum thickness???

Dave, Are those A or AA thickness specs? My drums are at the grinding machnine shop waiting to get done and I would like to give them something to go by. Thank you. 8) They are for A drums and only a estimation, there original wall thickness was .140, it is the burnishing of the original surface of...

Re: Towing with a model AA for a carshow

Personally... forget about setting up and using any kind of trailer. The standard AA's were not designed to be pulling a trailer. Just getting a hitch on it will be a bear. If you really want to impress people and show them what these trucks are capable of just load the platform up with really heav...

I called the machine shops in my area that do grinding...I found one that has done this type of work before. They specialize in GE Locomotive wheel and braking assemblies. He said the size (14") is not a factor, LOL! Just found this while looking for other brake info: "Model A Ford ...

Re: Towing with a model AA for a carshow

Air brakes are not applied by springs and held off by air. All air brakes are pressure applied. Hitting the brake pressure applies air to the service brakes. Incorporated in modern trucks is an emergency brake that is spring applied and held off by air, but this is for emergencies and parking only....

Re: Towing with a model AA for a carshow

change of plans, My dad told me the trailer would not be long enough, length never crossed my mind. the Plymouth is 17.7ft, rabbit is 12.5ft. so total is 30.2ft. No way with that difference, I do have another trailer though. but compared to this trailer its huge, 30 to 40ft trailer. Pintle trailer ...
