Re: 4 speed Transmission counter shaft question
I have an unchecked one in a trans that is out of the truck. You can pull it and check it if you like. If you do not like it, you can put it back.

Grade of Ford Unmarked Bolts?
Bolt torque spec charts are very helpful only if we know the grade of the unmarked Ford bolts. Does anybody know what grade these Ford bolts are so I can use the correct torque spec?

Rear axle housing wheel bearing repair sleeves
Anyone know of a source of AA rear axle housing wheel bearing repair sleeves? I can find ones for cars but none for the AA's, specifically 28 or 29.

Re: Hidden disk breaks?
Chris, if memory serves me Kim has a 28 or possibly a 29. Will BB drums fit and work on the worm gear hubs? Most of the 28's without separate parking brakes had much narrower drums than the BB. I should also mention that many of these old brake and clutch linings are still asbestos and should not be...

Any Experiences with sleaving wheel bearing surfaces of axle
The bottom of the wheel bearing surfaces of my axle housings are worn and rough. I believe this is more common on the 28 with the shorter wheel bearing. Before paying to have them sleaved, I would like some feedback from any of you who have previously had this done. Price, durability, positive and n...

Re: Generator questions.
GComo, Have any fuses been added to the circuit? If so, check them first. Do not have the engine running while checking the fuses. If you can't find any blown fuses, again with the engine off, try the horn while you watch the ammeter. If the car is wired correctly, the horn power wire is connected t...

Re: Generator questions.
Hi GComo, If you have the standard Model A/AA generator, be very careful to not run the engine without the output of the generator connected to the battery. Without a load, a properly working 3rd brush generator will burn itself up. That said, the standard Model A charging system does not have a vol...

Re: 1929 model AA roof wood kit?
Kim, I have shipped my Masonite templates (not easily electronically copied patterns) to jbeivers since he was in first. When he has finished with them, you can be next. These were pre-computer full-size templates and if you can come up with an accurate way of electronically copying them, I am all f...

Re: Looking for info re 2 blade vs 4 blade fan performance
Dave, Thanks for the referral to The Ford Barn Forum, but I am looking for a more credible fan performance testing than what that forum lead me to in Mac's catalog. Any additional references to the article I am looking for will be greatly appreciated. I am trying to help a couple of new AA'ers and w...

Re: 1929 model AA roof wood kit?
A number of years ago, I bought a number of patterns for Model A wood pieces. I have never tried them. If you are interested, I will see if they seem to be enough to make the top wood kit. Let me know if you are interested and I will see what I can find.

How to remove gas tank inlet screen from bottom of tank?
I discovered that the gas tank inlet screen on my 28 has been laying in the bottom of the tank for many years. This probably explains why sometimes the gauge will not go below 1/3 level. The screen is magnetic and the top end of it is damaged from apparently being forced through the filler. I have b...

Looking for info re 2 blade vs 4 blade fan performance
A number of years ago I read an article comparing Model A 2 blade vs 4 blade vs 6? blade fans at different RPMs. Try as I might, I can not recall the source of the article. With our trucks, I think we need all the cooling we can get; especially with the early trucks with the smaller radiator. A coup...

Re: Would you use this wheel?
Jim_M, I maybe should have made myself clearer in my previous response. I suggested you should not use the wheel. If the side ring is Ford and undamaged, and unwelded, I would save the side ring for the next Ford wheel you get. I believe that the side rings of that era are quite interchangeable. I t...
