I'm looking for a set of high ratio (5.14) bevel gears for a 30/31 rear end in good usable condition, preferably also with the speedometer drive gear. Let me know what you have and how much you are asking for them.
thanks
Jeff

Re: Bevel gear rear end
Yep, mine has the car front end and gets steadily newer as you go to the rear!. 4 speed tranny also. Everything absolutely worn out and corroded, especially the springs, but I'm getting there.

Bevel gear rear end
Hi, Have just pulled apart the 30/31 diff on the '29 truck I am working on - yes I know it is a real bitsa! The bevel gears are quite pitted over about half the teeth- looks like there may have been water in the diff at some time. Seeing as how I will have to replace the gears, how difficult is it t...

Wanted transmission countershaft
Would anyone have a good usable countershaft (the lower shaft for the gear cluster) for a 4 speed transmission - part no. AA 7111. Mine has grooves worn in it where the bearings run.
thanks

Re: my restoration of 29 AA
Thanks for good the info Shelby. I've only ever done stick welding so MIG is a whole new ball game for me. Didn't know about the copper plate trick so will be trying that!

Wanted - hand cranked bed hoist
I’m restoring a 1929 truck to use as a working truck and would like to fit a hand cranked hoist to tip the bed. Would anyone have the works of one that they want to sell – something like the Little Giant underbody hoist would be ideal. Let me know what you have and how much.
Thanks
Jeff
Thanks

Re: Warford auxiallry transmission
Hi Shorthaul,
This is what the strap looks like - not very exciting. It just fits into a flat milled into the end of the shaft to stop it turning. Jeff

Re: Warford auxiallry transmission
Thanks ModelAMan 72, yes, the shaft is stepped, after soaking it for a week, I gave it a light tap with a drift and it moved ever so slightly so I just kept tapping and after about 10 minutes it was out. Just as well I did take it out, one of the roller bearings inside seems pretty beat up on the en...

Re: Warford auxiallry transmission
Hi Flatford 39,
No this one came from Canada. Have taken one layer of crud off it, still can't see anything - back in for another soak!
