Re: Shock Absorber Lubricant

I had mine rebuilt by a fellow in Colorado but if you are going to do it on your own most of the parts houses sell the parts and the fluid.

Re: Black/Green wire in the drum tail light socket

Thanks Art, Mine has the socket like this one: http://macsautoparts.com/model-a-ford-tail-light-lamp-socket-for-drum-type-light-double-contact-a13410a/camid/MDA/cp/JS0R3CHL1068879/ The openings for the wires face down on the actual tail light. The bullet ends on the wires just plug in like you said.

Re: Black/Green wire in the drum tail light socket

Miner Art,
I guess my question regards where each wire plugs into the tail light socket on the actual drum, because one is supposed to be for the stop light and one for the tail light.
Thanks

Is the green or black wire inserted on the frame side of the drum tail light socket?

Looks like a lot of fun!! I hope you keep us up-to-date as you move along with it so we can see you smiling some more. The "smiling" times help the "cursing" times with these trucks worthwhile, even if they are someone else's "smiling" times.

Re: bed strips

They aren't exactly like the originals but Horkey's has them up to 144" long in steel, stainless or polished stainless. Here is the link: http://www.horkeyswoodandparts.com/page26.html If you want originals type skid strips, you'll have to find some other way because I don't think anyone makes ...

Re: New project or parts?

Chris,
Sorry, I misunderstood what you were asking. My fenders were also missing the back half when I picked my truck up. I don't know if it was rust or if they ended up cutting them off because they were damaged somehow. Either way, it looks like it might have been a rather common occurance.

Re: New project or parts?

I believe rear fenders were available on platform beds until the end of July 1929.

It looks like you have some good parts there. Keep us updated.

Re: T-shirts

I personally like t-shirts with a small logo on the front (upper left or right) and a large one on the back center. If that is an option, maybe one style truck could be on the front and the other on the back.

Where does this rubber door bumper go? Solved - not for 82A

I am wondering where the rubber door bumper on the left is installed. It it part of the '28-'29 Closed Cab set I ordered but I have no clue where it goes. Thanks
