Re: power house generator
I won't be able to look at my truck for another couple months, but I am pretty sure mine doesn't have that side bracket on it. Is there a swingarm that is supposed to attach to it?

Re: power house generator
Mine has only the mounting bolt attaching the generator to the engine. I've thought that there should be a bracket somewhere, but don't see where it would attach. Is there a drawing or picture that shows the correct setup?

Can you post pictures of these? I have an early '29 and didn't realize they made aftermarket duals for it. I'd sure like to get my hands on a set!
Thanks,
David

Re: Fuel Filter Flow Problem
I tried to find the fuel filter you show in the picture, but I couldn't narrow it down to a specific one. The micron rating of filters similar to yours varies from 12-70 microns, which is way to fine for a gravity-fed system. Typically, the smaller the number (micron rating) means more restrictive t...

Re: Worm Spline Number
Unfortunately, '29 AA's didn't have duals. As for the '29's low and high speed differentials: The number of teeth on the brass gear divided by the number of teeth on the spiral gear determine the ratio. High-speed rear ends have 31 teeth on the brass gear and 6 teeth on the spiral gear. 31/6=5.16666...

Re: starter was cranking strong, now barely at all!
I'd pull the plugs and see how it cranks. It should crank really easy. Can you check the voltage on the starter posts (not lugs) while it is cranking?

Re: starter was cranking strong, now barely at all!
You mentioned that you were working in the snow... Is there a chance that water accumulated in your exhaust which has now become a freeze plug? The hissing noise could be a pressurized exhaust, and your starter is basically trying to crank over a big air compressor.
