Re: Engine Number?
If the surface of the number boss is nice and smooth the original number has been removed and a new number stampped in its place. The surface of the boss should match the rest of the engine block. Thanks, Chris. That is what I meant by manufacturing results. It appeared at first to be original mark...

Re: aa express
You guess wrong. The "AA" Express was made by Ford but was a completely different bed with not one single piece of sheet metal being the same as an "A" bed.smilebigtt wrote:Os I would guess that the express bed (pickup style) was home made?

Re: 6v to 12v?
I am converting to 12 volt so I can have a few modern conveniences. Radio, GPS, Halogen lighting, electric fan, and the convenience of buying replacement bulbs at any auto parts store.

You can do whatever you want. The A beds and not as tall, narrower, and shorter than the AA. Plus the fenders wont fit, yada, yada, yada.smilebigtt wrote:Question: Can a person put two pickup beds end to end to make the express bed?

Did you ever consider having your shoes arched so that would fit?

I found this photo on the web. The truck has 1970's type stickers on the license plate.
I would love to see it IRL.

I went up to the 6.50 tires, and (based on advice from guys that know a lot more then I do), used four late 1930-1931 raised center wheels so the bigger tires did not rub.
Actually the tires don't rub anything as they are locked together. They will touch each other though.

Re: Seeking advice on rear springs and brakes
I saw an "AA" that had the rear lowered a very simple way. The owner added a second spring shackle to the original one. Thus increasing the legnth. This pushed the front of the spring down which raised the rear and lowering the height of the "AA". Simple as pie.
