Found an add on craigslist (eastern section of connecticut listings) for a 1931 model aa stake bed truck. Everything apears to be there and the add says it runs. The price is $2800 obo. I already have a project and thought the info was worth passing on.

I am looking for the backing plates with the emergency brake. The plates I have, have a 2 peice dust ring and are held in by rivets and spot welds. The ones I have are great but I am forced to cut into them to free the brakes.

Looking to see if anyone has a pair of rear backing plates for a 29 model aa or if anyone knows where I can buy new ones. Thanks in advance for your help.

Shelby, Thanks for the advice. I gave it a shot but I could not free the adjuster or pads. The drums are on and I am not sure how to proceed. I tried removing the outer ring from the backing plate by grinding the rivets and drilling the spot welds. Once I had it removed, I gain no additional access ...

I am in the process of restoring my 29 model aa and I came across a problem. The rear brakes are frozen. I have tried to back off the adjuster but no luck.
