Re: Hub Puller Reply
Hello Dave, We don't know each other well, but I personally feel like I am responsible for/to you. I am glad to hear from you and want to keep tabs on you, I want to know you are OK! Glad you're back and hope you stay safe. My boy had trouble staying connected while in Iraq, but they had something i...

Re: question regarding year change in wheels
Does anybody know how thick the plates were?
I am running the 650x20 tires on my AA and I worry about the rub, although they don't appear to touch unloaded.

Re: Help with ID
Grandpa said he replaced engine head. Does this change the year? He also said that it is a grain truck. He bought a dumptruck for $25 to replace the transmission connecting drive gear. He also has a new distrubter, cap and rotor for it. When did the 1930 models come out. (I have 5 opening dish whee...

Re: question regarding year change in wheels
UP DATE: I just ordered my wheels and a correct set of springs. So, I asked my contact to take inventory of his wheel stock and report back to me via phone. He said he will do so today and call me tonight. I will then report to you his findings. I will do this for you guys out of the goodness of my...

Feeling even more brave, with all my wieght, and lots of moving, balancing on the 3 foot pipe, jumping up and down, holding onto the steering wheel. I could not get the nuts to move at all!!!! Laural and Hardy w...

Re: new split ring question
Being clean of paint isn't necessary, in fact they should be well painted, but the grooves and edges should be fairly sharp to hook into each other well. I carefully ground out the surface rust and old paint while being sure not to alter the angles that interlock during inflation. Dry check them wit...

Re: regarding the rear springs
I meant the TRUCK body weight. By the way, mine runs about 1200 lbs. I should have asked how much travel you've got before your helper springs engage. If you can keep them from "helping" during normal operation, they do add quite a visual element. AA springs are already impressive as they...

Re: Hub Puller Reply
tt, Did you say at one point that you had some rusted wheels? There is a puller on here somewhere that illustrated taking a standard heavy duty axle puller with 3 jaws that attach to axles studs (not the AA studs). The rusted wheel center is bolted in place on the AA axle, it has been modified with ...

Re: Link to some mail truck parts
I contacted this fellow, he wants $700 for mostly unusable Wood and metal parts.
Probably only good for copying, but not much for actual use.
He is trying to avoid the smelter, and he has some wood doors for the mail truck.

Not to co you crazy packrats, but every time I threw away a good used part (GUP in the parts column) I would need it the very next day, so I don't throw any parts away, good bad or indifferent!
