Re: Kick Panel Placement

Neil, Do you happen to have a picture that shows a little higher up on the end of the dash rail? There’s a long tail of hem off the top of the kick panel and would like to see how it terminals in that space between the dash rail and door post. Thanks Dave Sorry Dave, That is the only photo I find o...

Re: Kick Panel Placement

Hi, Can someone verify for me the placement of the top of the kick panels please. Does the kick panel go between the flange of the dash rail and the door post? - in this case the finished edge of the kick panel would be visible part way up the seam between the dash rail and door post - or - Does th...

Re: Does this wood look original?

Show the front and rear connections of bows in detail. Is your AA a 1930? The headlight shown appears to be 1930.

Any fenders with this box?
Not at this time. I am negotiating selling a an AA express project (less the cab). If that does not work, I will list the project as parts which includes rear fenders.

Re: Body block rubber pad confusion

"Body blocks" are called "filler blocks" in Ford terminology. They have Ford part numbers. See Ford service Bulletins for August 1930 page 483 fig 959. This example is part A40081-AR which is replaced by A40081-B. if this message is a duplicate delete one of them. Best, Ed Haysl...

Re: Body block rubber pad confusion

While i agree - they did have some pretty stout fixtures to keep everything square that wont be easy to replicate. Also in your picture does anyone know what the "spark plug" looking things are sticking off the top of the wood? Some kind of alignment pegs/posts? Just curious. Sorry, I don...

Re: Body block rubber pad confusion

Gotcha on the pads and i will try to find the reinforced stuff. I take it you would recommend finding reinforced 1/8" thick stuff? ALso when you say only using one pad on the front bolt - does this count as the big dog leg pad? I thought that center block notch would be awfully tight but looks...

Re: Body block rubber pad confusion

In my experience, vendor-sold pads without reinforcements, are of little value. They squash down when body bolts are tightened making body alignment impossible and the pad thickness is of little importance. Reinforced pads do not compress. Multiples can be used for body shimming. I would recommend n...

Re: Platform sills dimensions

I'm rebuilding a stakebed platform I bought separately (I think it came off a '31) and intend to mount it on a '31 frame. The sills on the purchased platform bed are 5 1/2" H x 3 1/2" W x 100' L. This contradicts the specs I'm finding throughout this discussion group. The factory specs ca...

Bob, Spot welded in place, correct?? Original is not the same design are reproduction. But, once the panel is installed, the loo...
