I second that desire for affordable hub caps. I am not motivated to buy caps for more that I paid for the tire!
Besides the clever answers, ha ha, does anyone have some old rusty beat up ones I could pound into shape and spray paint silver? I just need two.

Re: ton or ton and a half?
I read in an old brochure from 1928 that the AA was rated 1 1/2 tons with singles, 2 1/2 tons with duals, although Ford did not supply duals at that time. The frame is stout and the springs are tough. i have to load two tons just to get the truck level, and my body weighs about 1200 lbs. Does anyone...

Re: Alternator vs Generator
I am curious what motivates people to switch the charging system. I once was told by a Model A car driver that I must not drive my truck if I use the old 6-volt generator. While its true I only put a few hundred miles on a year, I have never had a problem that I could blame on the generator or the v...

Re: WANTED: Early 30 AA Truck
Now I don't profess to be an expert, but that looks like a 1929 with the 28/29 style axles. Nothing wrong with that, but the 1930 with this cab had the wider axles that took duals on the rear.

Re: Coker Tires coming out with a new truck tire
I am not a tire expert, but all tires are not created equal, even when they are called by the same numbers. This is a truck tire and is not dimensioned like the existing 7.00-20 car tire they sell. I don't know that it would fit duals, but that is not what I have. I would not put it on the front, ei...

Re: Coker Tires coming out with a new truck tire
Thank you for the kind words. I examined lots of pictures to come up with a design for the tailgate. Myself I like the steel spoke wheels, so I am destined to have singles. But...if my singles can combine for 6300 lb capacity it will be almost as good as duals. I did once back it onto my lawn with 4...

Coker Tires coming out with a new truck tire
A bit of information that I got from Coker Tire. At the end of October, they will have a new tire from Firestone. A truck tire 7:00-20. 35.00” diameter, 8 ply with a load rating of 3150@90 PSI. $230.00 each. Currently they only have 7.00-20 car tires. I am tempted to put a pair on my rears, but I ne...

By the way, I think I used good old fashioned woven asbestos that my father had from way back.

Re: poor brakes on our early 28 .
If I can thow in a comment. I can stop my AR version 1928 AA Dump Truck empty, or loaded with two tons. I do need more planning when its loaded and I can push pretty hard. I also changed the front pads myself. Just want you to know that it can work. My wife can stop it empty. Hang in there.

Re: WANTED 4-Bolt PTO for 1928 AA
What makes it rare is it was only used for 28 & 29. A six bolt will not work. The SAE Six bolt was used from '30 through today. I now have one but others on site would be interested. If you truly find a four bolt remember your friends here.

Re: shes dependable!!
By the way, what size tires do you have one the rear of that '29? I've considered stepping up a size for more payload. I am running 6.50x20 rears and 6.00x20 in the front on my '28 dump truck.
