Re: AA truck jack

Brian, you need to help the Judging Standards Committee update the AA section. They only show 2 jacks styles and the earlier one has a cast-in pin on the side where the handle goes in to grab hold of it better. The Committee told me about 2 years ago they need someone to take over the "Heavy C...

Re: Engine Oil

What do you know about your engine, rebuilt recently, oil pan removed for cleaning?, if not sure then it would be best to remove the pan for cleaning, if it is dirty then the valve cover should be removed and cleaned, plenty of info on the Fordbarn on how to do this safely, afterwards use ONLY deter...

Re: AA truck jack

Hello Sam, I have posted some pics of the AA jacks, If you just need any lookalike jack for your AA there are plenty around, if you want a correct jack for your truck then notice --- there should only be 1 hole exposing the screw thread, there will also be a Ford script where the jack handle engages...

Re: Resurfacing Brake Drums

Hello Don, Grinding is the best way to true the drums especially if they are steel, you may have a hard time finding a machine shop that will do it, if the only option is to cut them and they are steel - not cast - they will have to be cut slowly in small increments, to deep a cut will cause the lat...

Re: Coupling Shaft Question

Hello Jim,
I was trying to post just before Bobs first reply, but it apparently died somewhere in cyber space, I again welcome you to the forum.
It does look like it was machined that way, can you take a pic of the inside of the u-joint, are you looking for another u-joint and why?.
Regards Brian.

Re: 1929 Emergency Brake Carrier

The carriers are left and right, the E brake bands fit both sides, do a search, there was a post with pics showing them 4-5 years ago how to ID them.

Re: Selma Swap Meet tomorrow, early intel reports

The photo appears to be a cut down A car(coupe or two door) with 1940 Ford car wheels (not AA lug pattern). Note the doors do not have the edge bead found on A & AA truck cabs (type 82A). Its amazing what you miss when you take a quick look, maybe it will yield a few good parts for assorted car...

Re: 1929 AA rear springs, shackles and spring seat assemblie

Hello Dave, You may already know those springs do fit all 4 years of AAs that require the 16 leafs, part #AA 5560-B, -- so the book says -- if they do not sell would you consider selling just both the #1 leafs separately?, I do see there is some wear thru the bushing, can you estimate how much?. Re: What are these shims for?

Stakebed, When I had my rear brakes apart I ordered these hub gaskets, they are fiber washers about the same size as the axle washer, they obviously cant be used there, I believe there was a smaller seal at one time that fitted in between the hub and axle shaft, probably done away with as obsolete. ...
