Re: Clamshell for rear axle measurements
yea i agree he means those. I dont think they wear out, the slotted pin that holds the leaf to them and the spring eye bushing tend to wear badly.

Re: 342
That's breathtaking and inspiring! what's the wood species may I ask? With so few fasteners I guess it's not a long bed. Nope not a long bed. I used white oak that I had a local saw mill cut and kiln dry for me. I used a mixtue of 2 parts linseed oil to 1 part turpentine to protect it. Wow looks gr...

Re: Truck Weight
I got it inspected and registered @Ca DMV as TowDolly. I had to install fenders on the rear axle. It's licensed, believe it or not. I also upgraded the 20K lbs straps to steel clamps but I don't have pics of that. I'd like to hear your actual concerns about it's safety, but I have used it for long ...

Aftermarket car spring or AA?
I got this awhile back because no-one could figure out what it would fit. I'm not entirely sure after studying my own pictures and referencing the front spring diagrams/dimensions posted in other threads on this site... Heres what i know: There's 14 leafs leafs seem to be about 1 3/4" wide the ...

Re: Pulling apart my dual high.
neat! yea i know i need to replace both seals on mine. when i disconected the drivetrain that 600 oil was everywhere in it. I didnt realize the u joints were supposed to be filled with grease and not that 600w stuff....so either the trans or dual high leaked out. Or rear axle leaked up.
