Re: AA Worm Drive Flat Towing
My only experience with worm drives is with winches and various farm and construction machinery. Most of them are designed to resist being driven by turning the output shaft. In other words, the winch resists being spooled by pulling on the cable. Therefore, a clutch or coupling is included for the...

Re: Platform vs. Stake Body
Ford cargo body types - 88-A = platform; 188-A = Stake Racks A cargo body with both body types would be considered a stake body. Body types were not assigned until sometime in 1930. Prior to that Ford documentation uses the term of platform and stake body. So, yes, the only difference between a pla...

Platform vs. Stake Body
What is the difference between a '29 Platform Body truck and a Stake Body truck, other than the presence or absence of stake racks?
Thank you.

Body Date Stamp
Where, specifically, will I find the body date stamp on the firewall of a '29 closed cab? Don't have one to look at right now.
Is the date straightforward, or some form of Ford code?
Thank you.

I replied but don't see it here. I'm learning.
It was Marco's display I was thinking of. Sorry for the confusion!
Thanks for the help.

AA Body Paint Color Choices
I've been reading so much I've forgotten where I saw something. It is an interactive display of all the body color choices that were available. You click on your choice and the illustration of the truck changes to those colors. I hope someone else remembers where that is. Thanks in advance.

I sent you a PM, but am not certain I did it right. If you don't respond to it, I'll assume I did something wrong and try again.

Re: Wanted to Buy: '29 AA Stakeside
Thanks guys. Apologize for the delayed response. I've been off base and off the net for a week. As to the yellow one on eBay, I don't take issue with it. The restorer just had different objectives than I do, so the word suggested by someone else describes my evaluation: "over restored". I'...

Wanted to Buy:1929 AA Truck. Closed cab stakeside or platform body, or cab-and-chassis, with single rear wheels, in competent roadworthy condition. I want a truck in which mechanical rebuilding and reliability have received high priority. This is the truck you wouldn't hesitate to drive to an activi...

Re: Original old Ford truck film advertising
Just now saw this. That very dump mechanism is available on a commercially made, fully galvanized utility trailer on display at the Winter Sportsman's Show in Sacramento. 12v powered hydraulic unit. Just about the right size for an AA, too, although I wasn't thinking along those lines then. I'll bet...

Swap Meet Calendar
With limited time to explore the net, there is one item I need and haven't found. That is some sort of central calendar or listing of swap meets, auctions, etc.. Does such a thing exist somewhere out there on the web? JPB
