Re: Worm drive differential lubrication
Just an fyi the judging standards shows the 2 different worm rearend housings. The later worms had a hump on the worm gear area, inside is an angled channel that catches the slung oil and runs it back to the rear thrust bearing directly. Clearly lubing that bearing was an issue otherwise ford would ...

Re: WTB, Rear 88A platform bed crossmember
FYI i hve heard of people stripping the pockets off them and taking them to a sheetmetal fab place and having one made from this as a pattern. Then re-riveting the pockets back on the new one.

So whos headed to IOLA in 2 weeks?
Ill be there browsing around looking for model A/AA parts and trying to find 98+ ford ranger brush guard and running boards for another project haha.
I plan to head up north of there to check out a few cabins on lakes around the Hazelhurst, WI area before hand. Anyone got any suggestions?

Re: Early (2 piece) brake cross shafts won't come out
well the 1 piece shafts after this style had to have been riveted on after its inserted into the frame. No other way to get the horseshoe out without removing both arms.
Id guess you have to remove the arm rivet and slide the shaft out towards the driveshaft on both sides.

yea me thinks someone added them so they could overload the bed without the tires rubbing the bed/fenders.
