Re: Bevel Gear Rear End V-Bearing Question
I'm no expert, but I would use it. I can see no reason not to.. I would think the new bearing is an "improvement" that was Made..

Re: 28-29 AA speedometer cable grommets
I also need a speedo grommet for my early '28 truck frame and am considering part number 9600K219 from McMaster-Carr. Take a look, it is for 3/16 thick material (good) but for a 1-3/8" diameter hole. My frame crossmember hole is 1-1/8" diameter. So I'm thinking that since you have to spli...

Re: starter grind?
I don't know of any specific amount. Just try one washer thickness then two, etc. until you get what you want. Then you have two choices, Either shim the Bendix that amount or the entire starter. Hold it!!!!  Shimming the starter out , pulls the Bendix into the ring gear. You need to ...

Re: Worm drive tag
It may be to show the gear ratio has been changed from what is stamped on the housing.. So you will have to check the ratio. Can do via counting drive shaft rotations to wheel rotation. Be sure to keep the tag!!!

Re: Front Radiator Splash Shield Felt Question
It must be a repo. If the 3/8" is too much, Try to slice it to fit. Or make your own 'pads'. Then glue it in place. When it is all together I don't think you can see it so no problem. I believe it is there just to prevent rattles. Some times you just gotta get creative!!

Re: 30/31 Ring Gear Question
If it was mine, I'd file / grind it to fit. I think the spider gears are so slopy that there should be no issues.

Re: locked up rusty transmission
Give it a try!! If your worried about it getting thru to the clutch, I would not worry too much. Can't hurt anything.. Fill it up, and rotate things around. Read instructions. how long to soak is key. Longer the better... Let us know how it goes. If all fails, revert to what the other guys said. Tak...
