3 gear in direct drive, to shift to warford OD how so?? i tried double clutch, tried reeving engine up and then shifting? does not want to shift. any veteran warford on the fly shifters????

middle gear in view bottom of photo shows rounding on shoulders. this is how mine was. bud valerius said even new warfords had quite a howl to them. he compared a NOS one to one in good condition and he said they sounded the same. so... will have to wait and see what yours sounds like. thank you, ke...

did you rebuild your warford. i replaced every bearing, counter shaft gears had some rounding on shoulders. do you know of a source for used or new counter shaft gear cluster? or anyone else?

how quiet is your warford? my truck is very noisy in OD. the countershaft had some wear on gears but not bad. direct is quiet, any ideas? hope all is well. kevin

according to neil's illustration down is OD and back is direct. OD sure is loud compared to direct. my gears were good, not perfect.

i put a warford in my 28 AA. what is the shift pattern. it seems closest to steering wheel down is underdrive, moving to center of truck down is direct and up is overdrive. of course direct will accelerate quicker. is it really just 4th that you would move in overdrive, or put in overdrive on level ...

i have a NOS driver rear fender, 1075.00 plus shipping. i am in ct. i also have express tailgate, head board and sides. tailgate " good condition" 3 sides need repair on bottom, but a start to a very rare bed. i created a bed for my express with similar material. pm if interested.

what were the dimensions of the hole in seat riser for the warford shifter?

question, when you installed your warford did you have to alter any u joints to fit all together in between cross member and transmission? i had to cut about 3/8 of an inch off the U joint that mates to the front of the warford. there was no way to clear the "nose" on the front of the warf...
