Re: New project or parts?
Elkhorn29, From what I can see (like the wheels), your AA is a '29 (not a '28). That is what I thought when I first saw the truck from the wheels. I was able to find the VIN and its AA5324** which would make it Oct. 1928. Besides that the truck also has 1. What appears to be an early transmission m...

New project or parts?
Picked up a 1928 stakebed today minus cab, hood, front fenders and few other things. If I find a cab for this frame it might become another project, if not, its parts for my 29. I thought it was cool that it has most of rear fenders with fender spacers. I don't believe I have ever seen rear fender sp...

Re: VIN on frame=manufacture date and plant location?
I hate to give you the bad news. It appears that your engine block is a re stamp. The stars before and after the number are missing. You will also notice that the texture of the number pad is different that the rest of the block. This is not an uncommon thing to find. Just don't mention it to your ...

VIN on frame=manufacture date and plant location?
I found the numbers on the frame of my AA truck today! I was excited to see the numbers match the block. I was hoping somebody on here could tell the truck manufacture date and manufacture plant location by the numbers. I questioned if the my truck was really a 29 but now I hope the numbers will tel...

Re: Uncommon AA truck?
Thanks Neil for posting . According to my registration the truck is a 29, the truck has been registered as a historic vehicle since at least 1973 in California and the number stamped on the motor suggests the motor was made in Oct. 1929. That supported 1929. I'm not sure though, I think there might ...

Uncommon AA truck?
I am new to this forum. I recently acquired a 1929 AA plateform stake bed truck. From what I've read online it is a 82-A Closed Cab with a 88-A/188-A Stake Bed. The truck is in pretty good shape, considering its age and I've fallen in love with it. I've started repairing some of the rust. The cowl u...
