I know it's a T block but I suspect the principle is the same.

Wanted: 28 29 Windshield Header
Looking for a decent sheetmetal windshield header for my 28 Cab. It's ok if the windshield posts are still attached. I have three rotted ones and am in need of a decent one.
Thank you,
Tom

Re: 3 speed??
i didnt think to look at the tranny close on the one im tryin to get but the guy said it had a splitter on it for realy heavy loads, its a 29 body style, so does that mean that it should have the regular three speed with an additional box behind it? Never heard the term "splitter" before ...

Re: Rear axle speed
Drew, According to Neil top speed with the 7.25 ratio would be about 30 mph, with the hi-low shift in low 20 mph would be top speed. both at top engine rpm. Just to low for normal driving. I think what Drew is asking is if you have actually driven the truck at speed. It doesn't sound like you have ...

Re: 3 speed??
Thank you Chris, I appreciate that. I will admit I have absolutely no experience with the four speeds.Chris Haynes wrote:Tom,flatford39 wrote:I was also told that the AA bell housing is shorter than the A but I haven't confirmed that yet.
Tom

Re: 3 speed??
I have a 3 speed in my 28 but it has the dual high auxilliary trans right behind it. I think this aux trans is like a "creeper gear" on a tractor. Gives you a super low under load to get you started. I have another 28 Frame that is set up for a three speed as well but it doesn't have the d...

Re: Express Bed and chassis for sale
I think that is a TT box and not an A box by the niddle stake holder on it. But hard to say.Shorthaul wrote:Picture file link posted by chris.
Do those prices look reasonable or do I not see a bargain when I'm looking at it. I guess there is always somebody looking for a particular part.

Re: Incomplete frame number
Chris, I know exactly where to look. Thank you. Been working on A's since I was a little kid. It was our family car for a long time growing up. I bought this truck in the middle of a corn field in Nebraska from a Farmer that probably worked it to death. It wouldn't surprise me if he changed Cabs on ...

Not sure how to do that. What do you use safely to etch. I was sanding by hand but I have some serious pitting where the missing number(s) is.Jared275 wrote:You could try raising the missing numbers by etching the surface.
