Re: Today I looked at...

Without seeing pictures, it's hard to say. I'd say if it's complete and not too rotted out it may be worth it. We always love to see pictures.

Re: tie rod

Sonny, I'm not sure of you tried this yet or not, but it's not going to work without taking at least one of the backing plates off, or at least it won't work on a '34 BB. The tie rod ends hit the backing plates. I was able to take one of the backing plates off then swing the tie rod so it was parall...

Re: Cracked flywheel housing.

Bert's out of Denver would probably have one, but I don't know what shipping would be. 303-293-3673, or 800-321-1931 if you want to give them a call.

Re: Cracked flywheel housing.

Dave,
Like Russ said, I would also put in a non cracked replacement while you have it apart. If you can't find a replacement you could also go with a new one, but I believe they are a little pricey.

Re: Rear spring seat

I thought the locking pins were different, no? I'm pretty sure that I've seen two different types of locking pins for those spring seats.

Re: another budd question

The rims won't work on your truck. I would run the same size tires on the rear. I don't know if would run 7.00 x 20's on the front either, they're a little big to be on the front in my opinion. I would highly advise against trying to use the lock rings from the newer rims on your rims. They are diff...

Re: spring perch removal and axel problems

The model A perches will not fit the '31 AA perches.

Re: spring perch removal and axel problems

Actually, they were saying on Fordbarn that the best penetrating oil is a 50/50 mix of acetone and atf. You probably want to be careful if you're going to be heating something up that you put it on.

Re: spring perch removal and axel problems

Maybe heat up the axle with a torch and try to cool the perch? Just a thought.

Re: tie rod

Oh, I get it now. I would take off the two nuts that hold on the spindle arms and take the spindle arms and tie rod all out and replace everything. Hope this helps.

Is that a Fulton Easy Start or something of the like by the steering column and starter? Nice looking truck none the less. Congrats.

Re: tie rod

King Pin bushings? I would disassemble the front end. Take off the drums, shoes, backing plates and tie rods and check everything out. I suppose you could also just jack the front end up and wiggle the tires, but you'll have to make sure it's not front bearing looseness that you feel. I would person...
