Re: stop light switch
this may be a silly question, but my early 30 didn't have any lights; much less a stop light switch when i bought it. i'm just wondering which one people are using and how they have it installed. pics would be great. hello my friend can surely help you out. He is good mechanic. I will ask him to po...

Re: stop light switch
all i have from my pto is a broken off flat bar that goes from the pto to the rear bolt mounting the e-brake. that's where it's broken; right where that bolt is, but you can see that they were connected that way. but that could've been a farmer fix, too, for all i know.

Re: wheels: welding stock budd centers onto modern semi whee
i'm looking for something i can drive frequently, if i want to, in all gears. i know i'd need a spacer if i were to run duals, but i know a guy who can make me one; as i know a good welder, too. i know you can't run bias/radials on the same axle, but would it be that much of a difference to run them...

wheels: welding stock budd centers onto modern semi wheels
i'm pretty torn about what to do with my wheels when it comes time to needing to buy tires and such. i only have 4 wheels, at least one has rust-through on the tire mating surface, at least one is missing the lock ring, and just everything needs to be redone on all of them. although i'm keeping my t...

Re: stop light switch
good shots, farrell! i see you have the link instead of the chain... but it looks rather long. are they supposed to be that long? i'd think with that sort of length, it could get bent up if going over rough terrain. seeing as i need to start from scratch, i think i'll go with the chain because it lo...

Re: stop light switch
ok, cool. do you have a pic better showing where the parts are installed?
i found the transmission-mounted switch at a swap meet, but realized quickly it wasn't going to mount to my transmission!

Re: the hood has what!
a side-diversion from the topic, but what length are the hood rods supposed to be? i bought some rods at the hardware store (saved $15 from buying the licensed rods!), but i need to cut them down. i doubt my old center rod was the correct length, but i want an accurate measurement on the entire bund...

Re: Windshield cleaning/de-rusting
i've used white vinegar and muratic acid to de-rust parts (not together, though!). the vinegar was more of a soft cleaner that took time to get the job done. i put a few gallons in an old kitty litter bucket and covered it when i wasn't actively digging through it or scrubbing the parts. i don't kno...

very good point, neil.Neil Wilson wrote: The two national A clubs do not use the Ford logo on their t-shirts - probably for the same reason.

Re: Hi Lo Trans from e-bay
what's the advantage of these versus a plain 4-speed?
could these be used with trucks that didn't have them originally by a simple bolt-in procedure, or is there more to it than that?

Re: Transmission tower
No, the latch spring is BB7219. BB7234 is the mesh spring. Bob awesome! just what i was looking for! is that from the parts list catalog? and what about that pto handle? i thought it was just a flat bar with a bend in it... with holes for the actuator and one of the e-brake mounting bolts. i made m...
